The suspect, who arrived in the city from Atlanta, Georgia, in late November, was captured on surveillance cameras at a Starbucks near the Hilton Hotel where the fatal shooting occurred.
The bullets used in the killing reportedly had the words “delay” and “depose” engraved on them, possibly referring to an insurance-related book from 2010.
With Thompson’s killer still at large, the FBI has joined the investigation and is offering a sizeable $50,000 reward for any information leading to a conviction.
