The famous haunted house from ‘Poltergeist’ is being revived after a recent sale… and returning as a short-term rental.
Christian Melgar And So Amilee with Coldwell Banker Realty Westlake Village tells TMZ … the Simi Valley, CA home sold Friday for $1.28 million, which was $100,000 more than the asking price.
We’re told the new owner is an investor from Los Gatos, CA… and they plan to remodel the house in an Airbnb which will replicate the actual film set of “Poltergeist.”
In other words, each room has furniture and decorations that make the space look exactly like it does in the movie.
Halloween is just around the corner and horror movie fans were lining up to rent the house, but we were told the house wouldn’t be ready in time… because the owner wants to make it perfect and doesn’t want to rush it.
So maybe next year folks.
As we reported… the house — which served as the central location in the Steven Spielberg-scripted supernatural film – went on the market in August, the first time the house has been listed in 45 years.
The 2,373-square-foot home features 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a large pool and jacuzzi.
