The son of Princess Mette-Marit has been arrested on suspicion of rape months after his ‘attack’ on a woman.
Marius Borg Høiby is accused of violating the criminal code “which concerns sexual intercourse with someone who is unconscious or otherwise unable to resist the act,” the statement said, RadarOnline.com can reveal.

Høiby was arrested on Monday, according to police. Their statement continued: “What the police can say about the rape is that it was a sexual act without intercourse. The victim would not have been able to resist the act.”
This comes after Høiby was arrested on August 4 following an apparently violent incident at the apartment of a woman named Rebecca Helberg Arntsen in Oslo, Norway, as he was accused of causing bodily harm to the victim, with whom he was in a relationship, the police shared.
He was then arrested again in September for violating a restraining order.

Authorities say the 27-year-old was in a car with the alleged victim of the August incident when he was arrested on Monday, and suspicions related to the August incident now include domestic violence.
Authorities have not yet decided whether Høiby will remain in custody.
A week after his arrest in August, Høiby admitted to the attack on the woman, whom he called his “girlfriend”, but her lawyers have denied the claim.

In a statement released through Høiby’s own lawyer, he claimed that Høiby suffers from “several mental disorders” and has “long struggled with substance abuse.”
Høiby shared via statement at the time: “Last weekend something happened that should never have happened. I caused bodily harm and destroyed property in an apartment under the influence of alcohol and cocaine after an argument.
“I have several mental health disorders, which means I have had and continue to have challenges throughout my upbringing and adult life. I have long struggled with substance abuse, something for which I have sought treatment in the past.”

Høiby added: “The drug use and my diagnoses do not excuse what happened in Frogner’s apartment on Sunday night last weekend. I want to be responsible for what I did and will explain myself truthfully to the police. For me The most important thing is to say sorry to my girlfriend. She deserved neither what happened that night nor the extreme pressure from both the Norwegian and foreign press afterwards.
He also apologized to his family for his actions, which had “great consequences” for them.

Høiby was born from a relationship prior to the princess’s 2001 marriage to Crown Prince Haakon, the heir to the Norwegian throne.
Breaking his silence on his stepson’s arrest, Haakon told NRK he “would have liked to be home with his wife today,” but he is in Jamaica, in his role as a goodwill ambassador for the UN development program.
He added: “I miss her,” adding: “Today we are of course thinking of all those affected.”

Haakon also made sure to tell the outlet that police and the justice system “must be given the space to do their jobs,” which he “trusts” will be done in a “good way.”
Høiby’s mother, who attended a concert on Monday, has not yet commented on the arrest.
