Netflix India unveiled the expected trailer for “Khakee: The Bengal Chapter” during a stars -littered event in Kolkata on Wednesday, prior to the premiere of 20 March.
Produced by Friday storytellers and made by Veteraan Neeraj Pandey, the crime drama, is co -directed by Debata Mandal and Tushar Kanti Ray. After the success of “Khakee: The Bihar Chapter”, which unraveled the dark Nexus of power, politics and police in the hinterland of India, Netflix was set to explore new stories under the same banner.
The new series, which is set against the background of West Bengal from the early 2000s, focuses on the Indian Police Service (IPS) COP Arjun Maitra, a fundamental officer who comes to the fore as a catalyst for change during a period in which gangsters and politicians use undisputed authority. His determination to forge a path to justice within a treacherous landscape of political machinations and gang warfare forms the narrative backbone of the show.
“Khakee: The Bengal Chapter” has an ensemble cast with a part of the most respected talent of the Bengalian cinema, including Jeet Madnani, Prosjit Chatterjee, Saswata Chatterjee and Parambrata Chatterjee. The cast is completed by Ritwik Bhowmik, Aadil Zafar Khan, Chitrangada Singh, Pooja Chopra, Aakanksha Singh, Mimoh Chakraborty and SHRADDHA DAS.
