Fox News Media wants that habla with more viewers.
The Fox Corp. unit plans to launch “Fox Noitcias,” a new one-hour Spanish-language program for the Fox Deportes cable channel. The show is billed as a forum that “highlights issues impacting the Hispanic community” and will be hosted by Rachel Campos-Duffy, one of the co-hosts of the weekend broadcast of “Fox & Friends.”
The show’s debut, scheduled for October 15, will feature an interview with Raúl Mulino, the newly elected president of Panama. The program also includes highlights of the day’s key sporting fixtures from the award-winning Fox Deportes team.
“I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to host ‘Fox Noticias,’” Campos-Duffy said in a statement. “As the fastest growing electorate, accounting for nearly 20% of the population, the Hispanic community is thriving, and I’m proud to bring a new show that breaks down the day’s news with a focus on the kitchen table issues that matter do the most for our community.”
The program’s launch comes as Fox News Media has placed more emphasis in recent months on its ability to reach a broader audience than just the conservative audience it reportedly attracts. In recent calls with investors, Fox Corp. CEO Lachlan Murdoch cited research showing that Fox News reaches significant numbers of independent voters and even Democrats. Citing Nielsen, Fox News said it reached 36% of Hispanic cable news viewers and 45% of people aged 25 to 54 who watched cable news in the third quarter – the demographic group most coveted by advertisers.
Like its rivals, Fox News has explored new ways to reach audiences who might not watch its programs in the traditional way, through a cable or satellite subscription. The company has expanded its audio, book and digital media offerings, including a subscription-based streaming channel, Fox Nation, and a live-streamed Fox Weather service.
“Fox Noticias” will also be distributed on Noticias.FOXNews.com, FOX Nation and a dedicated YouTube page, as well as through clips made available via Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok and Snapchat. The show will be on the Fox Sports app and on FOXDeportes.com.
