The Real Housewives franchise crosses the pond with Real Housewives of London.
That was announced The Real Housewives of London is coming to Hayu, an international all-reality SVOD streaming service from NBCUniversal, during the first-ever Hayu FanFest in London on Saturday, October 26. The sold-out event featured panels with Real Housewives cast members Lisa Barlow, Sutton Stracke, Jessel Taank, Ashley Darby and host Andy Cohen.
Real Housewives of London was announced during Hayu FanFest following Cohen’s panel, and a video of the announcement was shared by the streamer via Instagram storywhich was greeted with excited cheers by a crowd of many Housewives fans.
Bravo aired a similar series called Ladies of London which ran for three seasons in 2014 and documented the lives of British socialites and American women who moved to London. However, RHOL is Hayu’s first original series and is produced by Monkey, the same company behind the British reality series Made in Chelsea.
The Real Housewives of London will premiere in late 2025, although an exact premiere date has not been announced. The series is broadcast exclusively on Hayu. Cast members for the foreseeable future Housewives term has not yet been announced.
“Tonight’s announcement of The Real Housewives of London is Hayu’s first-ever original series commission and another major milestone in the growth story of our all-reality streaming service.” Henry McDermottmanaging director of Hayu and EMEA Networks and international direct-to-consumer at NBCUniversal, said in a statement per Variety.
“It makes sense that such an iconic location in Britain – a key Hayu market – would be part of our strategy to further expand our offering with original content that excellently serves loyal fans,” continued McDermott. “We look forward to being the exclusive home of this latest installment in the wildly popular film The Real Housewives franchise.”
The Housewives franchise has gone international before, with other overseas installments including Athens, Amsterdam, Rome, Melbourne, Munich and more. The Real Housewives of Cheshire is the longest running international Housewives series with 17 seasons.
