2023-24: Real Madrid-Opmars on penalties

For the third consecutive season, the winner of this match would pick up the title of the Champions League title that shows how much pressure is on the game when these two teams meet in the European competition. City went on a goal in half of the first leg on a goal thanks to Ruben Dia’s own goal, but they would quickly turn things around with goals from Josko Gvardiol and Phil Foden. Fede Valverde brought things back to the level before the return to Manchester for the second stage where Rodrygo and De Bruyne have canceled each other’s goals before they went to a shootout. Real Madrid Backup keeper Andiry Lunin would save two penalties in that shootout and it was just enough to send Real Madrid before they conquered their 15th UCL title in their history.

2022-23: Manchester City dominates

Finally a turning point for Manchester City when they crossed the bump in 2022-23. It was a narrow first stage in Madrid ending 1-1, but when it went to Manchester, it would be a party at Etihad. A first half of Brace sustained Manchester City, and from there they were able to play the game on their conditions that win the possession and also score two goals in the second playing period, even though Carlo Ancelotti changed to bring his attack into a comeback in a comeback. At the time, this was against the first choice Real Madrid XI and a moment when City would announce itself as one of the best teams in the world in the midst of a dominant season. This run would also end with Guardiola who captured his first Champions League title as Manchester City manager, who was also the first of the club.

2021-22: A dominant Real Madrid Comeback

We now reach the start of the annual meetings between these parties and this was one for the centuries in the semi -final. City won a first stage with goals from four different scorers. A trio of them, Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva and De Bruyne, is expected to play a major role in this collision, but the second stage was the Rodrygo show. For 90 minutes it seemed that Manchester City would be the side on the way to the next round behind a goal from Riyad Mahrez, so that they have an aggregated a pillow of two goals. Then the Brazilian hit with goals in the 90th and 91st minutes of play. Ratled, City gave up a penalty in stopping time and Real Madrid would advance 6-5 on the way to claiming the Champions League title that season.

2019-20: Manchester City Tell Los Blancos

Under Guardiola, Manchester City turned into one of the dominant troops in world football, but a Champions League title had escaped them. Although 2019-2020 would not be when they crossed that bump, it was crucial to pass Real Madrid, Real Madrid. Winning both legs with the help of a Real Madrid Red Card, the dominance of the city in the Etihad was something to see. Despite the fact that they only achieved goals from Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus, they took 21 shots on nine on goal to continue in the tournament.

2015-16: All defense, no problem

Meetings between City and Real Madrid are known for goals, but that has not always been the case. On the way to winning the 2016 Champions League title, Real City met in Knockout -phases of the tournament for the first time with only one goal to separate them in the 180 minutes played. Madrid kept the things level in Manchester before Gareth Bale Fernando forced his own goal. Enough has changed from the teams and now versus now as Modric, De Bruyne and Dani Carvajal are the only starters of that match that are still with their respective clubs, and the starting center back for City in that match, Vincent Kompany, Bayern manages Munich now in Bayern Munich in their own knockout game.
