After the failure and cancellation of The Acolyte, it’s hard to predict how the next series from the Star Wars universe will play out. After several darker productions, Disney wants to cast a lighter tone on a galaxy far, far away with Skeleton Crew. And that could prove to be the key to the series’ success.
Although Skeleton Crew is set to premiere soon, Disney hasn’t shared much information about the plot yet. However, thanks to the trailers, we get the impression that the show will have an atmosphere similar to famous productions of the 80s, telling the story of a group of children who experience extraordinary adventures. Titles like Goonies, ET and Stand by Me come to mind, but fans of the series will probably also quickly think of Netflix’s Stranger Things.
But will Skeleton Crew really draw from ’80s cult classics? Will it captivate viewers as much as the story of Eleven and her friends? Here you’ll discover what to expect from the new installment of the Star Wars franchise.
When is Skeleton Crew coming out?
The new series from the Star Wars universe debuts on Disney+ on Tuesday December 3, 2024 with a two-episode premiere.
