Expert assessment
Plus points
- Fold-out side brush and mop pad
- Integral voice control
- Fits under low furniture
- Quick mapping
Disadvantages
- Better on hard floors than on carpet
- Duration
- Some app options are hard to find
Our verdict
There is plenty to like about the Qrevo Slim mopping robot vacuum cleaner from Roborock. The voice control doesn’t require a smart speaker as a middleman, the mapping is fast and customizable, and the dock requires minimal maintenance. In addition, the side brush and mop pad cleverly reach into the corners. But while it’s packed with technology to make it easier to use, we weren’t impressed with its cleaning performance overall.

Billed as the thinnest robot vacuum cleaner with 3D time-of-flight or ToF technology (a method of measuring the distance between a sensor and an object), Roborock’s Qrevo Slim mopping robot vacuum cleaner promises a lot.
In addition to not bumping into objects in your home, it is low enough to get under furniture, has an RGB camera to detect dirt and can detect floor types, increasing suction and making mopping soft surfaces easier. discontinued.
However, it’s the built-in voice control that doesn’t require a smart speaker that you’ll appreciate most: it responds to a host of commands, from starting and stopping cleaning to returning it to the dock.
Design and construction
- Low profile robot
- 1,000Pa suction power
- Robot responds to direct voice commands
The first thing you’ll notice about the Qrevo Slim is its size: it’s just 8.2cm high, allowing it to move along kitchen baseboards and access the space under beds and sofas (its diameter is fairly average at 35cm).
It’s also fairly light at 4.2kg, so it’s easy to carry to another floor. Like its dock, the robot is finished in a mix of glossy and matte black plastic.

This is combined with navigation layers: LiDAR sensors (two on the front, one on the back) and three cameras (one RGB and infrared on the front, one infrared on the back).
Below that are a pair of rubber rollers for sweeping up dirt, along with 11,000 Pa suction, a side brush that reaches into corners and around furniture legs, and two mop pads (the right one of which also reaches).

In addition, for those who like hands-on operation, there is a single button that can be pressed in different ways to clean the robot, start cleaning, send the robot back to the dock, mop alone or activate the child lock to switch.

It is paired with an upgraded Multifunction Dock 3.0, which washes and dries the mop pads, and includes a larger dust bag into which the Qrevo Slim can be emptied.
What’s smart, though, especially for those who are less tech-savvy, is the built-in voice assistant, which doesn’t need to be connected to Wi-Fi to work. For example, by saying ‘Hello Rocky’ you can ask the Qrevo Slim to clean a specific room (once it’s been mapped), or adjust the suction level, thanks to a host of preset commands available in the app. It even remembers your conversation on a chat history screen.
Performance and features
- Easily edit cards
- Customized cleaning
- Color camera
Go back a few years and it still took forever for robot vacuums to map a floor. However, this is not the case with the Qrevo Slim. We started mapping ours and it was done in a few minutes, presenting a floor plan that could be easily divided and named into different spaces in the app.
There are several options to customize your cleaning
We liked that it recognized that there were different floor types and presented this on the map, but if it goes wrong you can change it.

Another plus of the app is that there are multiple options to customize your cleaning: it is possible to choose a quick cleaning mode (ideal if guests are about to descend or are on their way home ), to change how loud the robot’s beeps are (plus there’s a do not disturb option so it doesn’t make noise while you sleep), four options for mop water flow and suction, and you can choose whether you want it to have one or two want to pass around.
Or, if you prefer the robot to make these decisions, there’s Smart Plan, which makes the cleaning choices for you.
That said, there are some useful things, like choosing off-peak charging, that are hard to find, as well as spotlessly hidden under a settings menu called Pin n Go, so browsing the menus is a must.
We found the remote viewing via the color camera interesting but gimmicky. It can be used to take photos of your pets, but this option was not enabled in our app.

We tested the Qrevo Slim’s cleaning on both hard floors (vinyl) and medium-pile carpet, using flour to represent dust and oats as larger dirt. Although the cleaning on the hard floor was mostly good, we noticed that there was a row of oats that had not been picked up after it was done.
A small amount of flour was also missed. Performance was spotty on carpet – although this is common with robot vacuums. Our carpet still had flour and a few oats on it, even when we ran a second cycle on the highest suction.

On the hard floor, the mopping was tested with a thin layer of brown sauce and mint sauce that had been left for a few hours. The brown sauce picked up easily, but once the floor dried we noticed later that the sauce still felt sticky underfoot.
Roborock’s Qrevo Slim navigated well for the most part
Even though the mint sauce had dried, specks of mint remained stuck to the brush rolls after it was vacuumed. The mop pads tended to spread the mint stains to other parts of the floor as well. Disappointingly, there are no spare mop pads, so once they were covered in mint they had to be cleaned before we could continue mopping.

Roborock’s Qrevo Slim navigated well for the most part – avoiding walls, table legs and doorways – but although its makers say it can recognize and respond to up to 73 types of obstacles, we found it still bumped into a low stone fireplace , sucked in and got clogged with a small piece of paper, and swallowed a large feather from a cat toy.
One plus we noticed after cleaning is that the hair did not wrap around the brush rollers, which is a common problem with robot vacuum cleaner clogging.
The Qrevo Slim knows how to find its way back to the dock very well. Having previously tested robot vacuum cleaners that got lost, we were impressed that no matter where we placed the Qrevo Slim, it always found the dock quickly and instantly.
Emptying into the dock’s bin was noisy – but not as loud as some – while washing the mop pads was unremarkable. We liked that the robot can be instructed to stop drying the mop pads after they’ve been washed, meaning you can save energy on days when they dry naturally.
Price and availability
If you are in Europe, you can already buy the Qrevo Slim. It has a suggested retail price of €1,299, but is currently available from Roborock’s German website and French online store for €999.
The Qrevo Slim is not yet available in the UK and US. We’ll update this review once it hits stores.

Should you buy the Roborock Qrevo Slim?
Roborock’s Qrevo Slim brings some useful benefits to the world of robot vacuum cleaners: it navigates more smoothly, doesn’t get stuck or lost, and makes cleaning options easier to customize. Plus, you get all the convenience of voice control without being tied to a smart speaker or device.
Despite all this technology, as with most robot vacuums, there is still a gap between performance on carpet and the capabilities of a standard vacuum. While mopping is good for daily maintenance, it is not a substitute for a hard floor cleaner or a mop and bucket.
Essentially, the Qrevo Slim is a big time saver for clean floors, but you don’t have to rehouse your vacuum cleaner just yet.
