Rosie O'Donnell slams Time Magazine for naming Trump 'Man of the Year'

Rosie O’Donnell recently took to TikTok to rail against Time magazine for naming Donald Trump its man of the year for 2024 (via The everyday beast). The publication made the announcement on December 12, with magazine owner Marc Benioff adding on X that Trump’s upcoming presidency “marks a time of great promise for our nation.” O’Donnell said Time “normalized” Trump by honoring him as its 2024 man of the year.

“Man of the Year, Donald Trump. Well, fuck off Time Magazine. Fuck you, seriously,” O’Donnell said. ‘How about the most dangerous man of the year? What about the most criminal man of the year? How about the worst president we’ve ever had…of the year.”

“Man of the Year? Jesus, Mary and Joseph,” she continued. “There wasn’t one person you couldn’t think of who wasn’t that lying criminal? No person of the year? Man of the year should be changed to person of the year. Look at the women, you patriarchal bastards. My god, it’s so frustrating.’

O’Donnell went on to say that there will be “no guardrails and a very corrupt Supreme Court” during Trump’s second term. He will be sworn in on January 20. In his Time magazine profileTrump doubled down on the pardons of some people convicted of crimes related to the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.

“We’re going to look at each individual case, and we’re going to do it very quickly, and it starts in the first hour that I take office,” Trump said. “And a vast majority of them should not be in prison. A large majority should not be in prison, and they have suffered greatly. And I say, why is it that in Portland and in many other places, Minneapolis, nothing has happened to them and they have actually caused death and destruction on a level that has never been seen before? So you know, if you look at what happened in Seattle, people died, there were a lot of deaths, and nothing happened, and these people were treated very, very poorly. Yes, it is an important topic for me.”
