Saban Films has acquired Danny A. Abeckaser’s crime drama “The Perfect Gamble,” starring David Arquette and Daniella Pick Tarantino.
The feature film, which has completed production, will hit theaters in the first quarter of 2025, followed by a digital release.
“The Perfect Gamble” tells the story of two best friends who get out of prison in New York City and move to the Eastern European country of Georgia, where they open an illegal underground casino. Only then do they realize that the city is controlled by the Russian mafia, meaning the duo must figure out a way to keep their hustle going while staying alive. Pick Tarantino plays the girlfriend of one of the friends.
Abeckaser directed the film, which was shot on location in Georgia and Israel.
He previously collaborated with Arquette on “BlackJack: The Jackie Ryan Story” and “Mob Town.” The latter was also distributed by Saban.
“I couldn’t be more excited to be working with Jonathan Saba and Saban Films again on ‘The Perfect Gamble,’” said Abeckaser. “Their passion for this film was evident and as a director and filmmaker it is paramount to have a partner who believes in the project as much as you do. I am extremely excited to release this film in theaters for the first time via Saban Films in early 2025.”
“The Perfect Gamble” was produced by Abeckaser, Rinati Rokach and Yoav Gross through Abeckaser’s 2B Films and Yoav Gross Productions. Eli S. Weiss, Amnon Shalhov, Emil A. Fish, Moshe Ziv, Galit Rosenstein and Maya Sharabani executive produce. Director of photography was Barry Markowitz.
The deal with Saban Films was negotiated by Paul Davidson from the production side and Jonathan Saba from Saban Films.
