- Cleaning tools for every surface

Our verdict
There’s everything you’ll love about this cordless vacuum cleaner, with its loads of brilliant features. The most striking is the Clean Station, which means you never have to empty your vacuum cleaner again. And there’s little to complain about, other than the fact that the AI features it’s named after aren’t impressive enough to justify the high price.

It’s been hard lately to exist without AI add-ons shoved in your face every time. There’s AI on phones, AI in refrigerators, AI in cookies (okay, not that), and AI in vacuum cleaners.
At first glance, this seems strange, as people are hardly clamoring for AI products. People tend to want cheaper, more durable, and more money-saving appliances. Still, saving money in the long run is an AI thing can actually help, by making performance decisions based on environmental factors, to ensure that devices minimize energy consumption and operate efficiently.
AI efficiency is certainly one of the claims of Samsung’s new flagship vacuum cleaner, the Bespoke Jet AI Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, but as with so many products with AI, you’ll have to be prepared to spend a lot for convenience and efficiency.
But AI features are far from the only thing this vacuum has to offer. It’s powerful, self-emptying and designed with quiet luxury in mind.
Design and construction
- Automatically empty charging station
- Excellent range of tools
- Replacement bags for Clean Station cheap and easy to find
Samsung’s Bespoke product line was initially focused on appearance. The brand’s bespoke fridges and fridge-freezers are tailor-made, allowing you to mix and match appliances, colors and door finishes to create a unique kitchen.
But the Bespoke Jet AI comes in one color – black – and doesn’t allow for any kind of modular customization. The tailored qualities have more to do with the AI cleaning mode, which adjusts vacuuming based on sensor feedback.
In the box you get:
- Vacuum body, with a 0.5 liter collection container
- Telescopic handle that you can adjust to your height while vacuuming
- Slim LED brush+, with headlights
- Active double head, with headlights and a soft roller for hard floors and a nylon bristle for carpet
- Motorized pet tool with rubber fins for removing hair from sofas and upholstery
- Crevice nozzle
- Brush
- Very useful flex tool – it is a joint to create an angle between the cleaning tool and the vacuum cleaner body

You also get an accessory holder to store the tools you are not using.

Then there’s the All-in-one Clean Station, an element that sets the Bespoke Jet AI apart from most other vacuum cleaners. It is a slim, cylindrical loading and unloading base in matching matte black with silver accents.
When you pick up the Bespoke Jet AI, it is always ready to use
I live in a city apartment with very little storage space, so if I have a vacuum that looks good enough not to clog, I can keep it near an electrical outlet and not have to cram it into a closet.

When you’re done using it, place your vacuum cleaner in the Clean Station and it will not only start charging, but it will also empty the vacuum cleaner into a bag in the base with powerful suction. It’s noisy for a few seconds, but so worth it.
This makes it a great option for people with allergies or asthma as it traps and retains the dust.
If you used an earlier model of the Samsung Jet and noticed that the vacuum cleaner bin does not close automatically after it has been emptied into the Clean Station, then you will be pleased to find that this is no longer the case.
You’ll get a notification in the form of a red LED when it’s time to replace the bag, but this should last 1-2 months depending on how often you clean and how much dust there is to pick up. You can also get warnings about this and check other settings if you download the Samsung Smart Things app.
However, unless you have some Samsung devices and already use the app, I don’t think it’s worth it. Depending on where you keep your vacuum, Wi-Fi can be limited, and when I tested it, I found the pairing process frustrating.
The Bespoke Jet AI comes with three bags (one pre-installed) and you can buy replacements cheaply on Amazon (£10.99 for ten in the UK; $19.99 for ten in the US).
Automatic emptying makes a big difference in how easy the vacuum is to use, as does the fact that it charges automatically. When you pick up the Bespoke Jet AI, it is always ready to use.
It also means that although the waste bin is a third smaller at 0.5 liters than the 0.77 liters of the flagship Dyson Gen5detect, it really doesn’t matter as you literally never have to empty it yourself.
You can remove the battery from the Bespoke Jet AI and it comes with two, plus a separate charger, so you can be sure you have a spare battery that is fully charged in case you want an extra long vacuuming session.
Still, battery life is excellent, with a runtime of up to 100 minutes – but only if you’re using a non-motorized tool on the lowest setting, which isn’t how you’ll be using the vacuum most of the time. Yet this means it lasts as long as any cordless vacuum cleaner available.
Performance and features
- Countdown timer for vacuuming on display
- 42 minutes of use with a motorized cleaning head
- AI features are useful but not life-changing
The controls and display are simple and comprehensive. Above the grip, exactly where your thumb wants it, is the on/off button. On either side you can scroll through the energy settings with a minus and plus button. There are four: Min, Mid, Max and Jet.
If you use one of the main cleaning heads (for carpet or hard floors), you can also access AI mode, which intelligently adjusts power and roller speed in response to the amount of dust and dirt detected. When using the vacuum cleaner, this is the setting I almost always returned to.
Above the controls is an easy-to-read LED display that shows the current mode and remaining vacuuming time. With the carpet cleaning head you can get approximately 42 minutes in Min, 36 in AI, 24 in Mid, 14 minutes in Max and 10 in Jet with a full battery. The hard floor head gives comparable cleaning times.

Both main cleaning heads also feature LED headlights. This is quite common these days, but I find this feature really useful when it comes to vacuuming in shady corners and under furniture.
The Bespoke Jet AI feels light to use and is very manoeuvrable. The cleaning heads have good absorption over the entire length. I’ve used the Slim LED+ head for cleaning hard floors and it doesn’t spread larger dirt like cat litter. And speaking of pets, the pet tool is an effective tool for removing fur from sofas.
It is a very powerful vacuum. Samsung says it has a suction power of 280W. Assuming the brand means 280AW (air watts), as it uses the terms interchangeably on its website, that means it’s even more powerful than the Gen5detect. It certainly seemed equally powerful during testing.
The Bespoke Jet AI is the ultimate luxury vacuum cleaner
The only issue I had with any of the cleaning tools was the Active Dual head, which can be used on both carpet and hard floors. It has a soft roller on the front and over time long hair got wrapped around it and compressed, making it less effective. Still, the roller is easy to remove and clean.
The Bespoke Jet AI has a stated weight of 2.98kg (with the LED brush+head attached). This is quite light for a wireless, and certainly lighter than the 3.5kg Gen5detect. The only time it feels heavy is when used overhead in handheld mode for extended periods of time to dust the tops of doors and clean blinds.
And what about the critically acclaimed AI features? It’s almost impossible to say whether using the vacuum cleaner in AI mode will mean extra cleaning time, but what it does do is make your life a little easier.
When you get to a dustier spot, or step from a hard floor onto a carpet, the vacuum boosts its power and roller rotation so you don’t have to fiddle with the settings. It’s an almost invisible benefit, but one that – like every other feature of the Bespoke Jet AI – makes life a lot easier.
Price and availability
Now we come to the hard part. The Samsung Bespoke Jet AI is without a doubt a valuable vacuum cleaner. It’s in the same price range as the excellent Dyson Gen5detect and these are expensive vacuum cleaners.
The Bespoke Jet AI has dropped from its launch price (in the UK; it’s not yet available in the US). You can buy it now for £799-£899 depending on the retailer and if there’s a promotion. The best offer at the time of writing is from Donaghy Bros, who are offering it for sale for £739. John Lewis got it for €799.
Overall, I would recommend the Bespoke Jet AI over the Gen5detect, if only for the Clean Station, which makes a huge difference in convenience.
Still, there is another way to get this feature for less money. The Bespoke Jet AI is an upgrade of the already excellent Samsung Bespoke Jet. If you’re not convinced by the AI features, you can get almost everything that makes this a brilliant vacuum cleaner for a lot less.

Should you buy the Samsung Bespoke Jet AI?
If money is no object, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Bespoke Jet AI. However, the AI features aren’t the reason to buy: they’re just one of many features that simplify and streamline caring for your home.
Ultimately, the reason to buy is that the Jet AI isn’t missing a single desirable feature: LED headlights, replaceable batteries, long run time, powerful suction, vacuuming countdown timer, adjustable wand, and joint tool. And then there is the Clean Station. All in all, the Bespoke Jet AI is the ultimate luxury vacuum cleaner.
