The Mid-Range Galaxy A-series from Samsung continues to evolve, with the Line-up of 2025 introducing the Galaxy A36, a successor to last year’s Galaxy A35.
Although they seem similar to the surface, some important differences can make one better choice for the other for you.
Let’s see what distinguishes them and which offers the best for your money.
Battery and charging
One of the most important upgrades of the Galaxy A36 is the improved loading speed. While both telephones are supplied with a battery of 5,000 mAh, the A36 45W supports super quickly, compared to the 25W quickly on the A35.

This means that although the A35 will take about 90 minutes to reach a full load, the A36 can fill two -thirds of the battery in just 30 minutes, making it much more convenient for users who need a quick connection before it goes on the road.

If quickly charging is an important factor for you, the A36 here is the clear winner.
Software
Samsung pushes AI heavily in 2025 and the A36 gets more of these improvements than the A35.

The A36 contains Samsung new ‘awesome intelligence’ functions such as AI Select, object eraser (automatic suggestion), filters (adjusting film styles) and read aloud, while the A35 only offers objects, smart select and basic edit suggestions.
The extra AI tools in the A36, such as selecting AI and read aloud, improve the user experience by making content and accessibility intuitive.

If you enjoy AI-driven aids to improve your daily telephone use, the A36 is the better choice.
Reproduction
Samsung has made noticeable improvements to the display of the A36.

It comes with a 6.7-inch Amoled screen that has 1200 Nits brightness, making it clearer and slightly larger than the 6.6-inch, 1,000 NIT panel on the A35.
This means better visibility outdoors, improved HDR content and a more compelling experience in general.

Other differences
Apart from these big differences, there are a few other small upgrades. The A36 is thinner at 7.4 mm against the 8.2 mm of the A35 and lighter at 195 g against 209g, making it easier to hold.
It also uses the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip, while the A35 runs on the older Exynos 1380. Although the improvement is small with around six percent, the Qualcomm chipsets are usually more powerful.

The A35 has a 13MP camera on the front, while the A36 has a 12MP sensor with Super HDR. Although the selfie camera of the A35 has more megapixels, the AI improvements of the A36 can ensure better recordings in dynamic lighting conditions.
Finally, while Galaxy A36 retains the key island on its frame, it changes the design of the rear cameras, around the three excellent lenses with an aluminum frame. Unlike that, almost all other characteristics of the two phones are almost identical.
Price and availability
The Samsung Galaxy A35 5G starts at £ 339/$ 399 for the 128 GB version. There is also a model of 256 GB that costs £ 389, but is only available in the UK.
The phone is available to buy directly from Samsung UK and Samsung US, or an external retailer such as Amazon UK and Amazon US.
The Galaxy A36 5G with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage is priced at £ 399 in the UK, which is £ 60 more than the Galaxy A35. However, this price increase seems somewhat justified by the faster charging, improved AI functions, a clearer display and more storage. You can buy it at Samsung or an external seller such as Amazon.
In the US it is priced at $ 399.99 for a model with 128 GB of storage and 8 GB RAM, and again, it is available at Samsung, or external retailers, including Best Buy and Walmart.
Pronunciation
If you are looking for the best value-for-money-MID-Range telephone and don’t mind loading a little slower, then the Galaxy A35 remains a great budget option.
However, if you want to charge the latest AI functions, faster and a noticeably clearer display, the Galaxy A36 is worth the extra costs.
The A36 feels more future-proof, thanks to the Qualcomm chip, AI tools and better long-term use, which makes it a better investment in general.
