In what is the start of an almighty Mid-Range smartphone battle, detailed renders from the Samsung Galaxy A56 appeared online, after hot on the heels of a similar Pixel 9A-Lek.
The Pixel 9A is perhaps the hot Middle Ranger on everyone’s lips at the moment, but the Samsung Galaxy A56 will probably offer heavy competition. It will certainly be a viewer as leaked representations of a trusted tip star are something to enter into.
What is the Galaxy A56 going like?
Trusted Leaker Evan Blass (AKA Evleaks) has placed four gifs of the Galaxy A56, one for each color that rotates on the spot. They reveal a device that looks a lot like the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G of last year, but this time available in silver, pink, black and green (the name of the color of Samsung is TB).
As with last year’s model, it looks a lot on the flagship Galaxy S-series (this year represented by the Galaxy S25), with a well-known flat-edge aluminum frame and carefully bent corners.
As earlier, the determining function is a set of power and volume control that bulging from the side of the phone. In my experience, this design quirk actually makes the phone quite fun to hold and very easy to operate.
The display reveals a much thicker ring, especially around the chin, which betrays the budget status of the phone. Around behind the camera module is now one coherent unit, which represents a subtle change from the Galaxy A55 5G.

What else do we know about the Galaxy A56?
The Samsung Galaxy A56 has already appeared on Geekbench 6, which points to packing Samsung’s homemade Exynos 1580 processor with a new 1+3+4 core configuration. It could represent a decent performance on the Exynos 1480 that fed the Galaxy A55 5G.
However, do not expect large claims on the camera department. We will probably see the same combination of a 50MP main camera, a 12MP Ultrawide and a 5MP macro. The most important advance can be a new and improved 12MP selfie camera.
The phone has also been published in both Chinese and German certifications with a 5000 mAh battery and charging wired 45W. The latter would represent a pretty rise compared to the 25W of the Galaxy A55 5G and would be a surprising match for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.
The next Mid-Range Competier of Samsung will be launched in March, the same month as the Pixel 9a and a month for the bright-awaited iPhone SE 4 from Apple.
It is a bit late for New Year’s predictions, but it looks like 2025 will be a great year for anyone who wants to spend less than £ 500/$ 500 on their next phone.
