The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 could finally steal a Mars on the foldable smartphone competition with a large camera upgrade.
According to a recent report from the Dutch website Galaxyclub, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will fold the 50MP main camera of the Samsung Galaxy Z 6 in favor of a 200MP main sensor.
This seems to be in line with the reach topping (and definitely not easy) Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, which may remove a reason to hold on to a classic form factor.

That is not the only camera set to be improved on the Samsung Galaxy Z fold 7. While the 12MP Ultra-Wide and 10MP telephoto returns, there can be a new component on the internal surface.
The report remains that the somewhat malignant, often ignored under-display selfie camera on the inside of the device receives a superior sensor.
We are not sure if this means an increase in the megapixel count, but everything to scoop more light and reduce those super soft selfies is great for us.
The front camera on the outside of the device will be the same 10MP affair.

Why is this big news for Samsung?
Samsung was a foldable telephone pioneer and took Bendy telephones as a viable mainstream option. Years before one of his competitors. The first Galaxy Fold (as it was originally known) was already launched in 2019.
However, the early folding lead that Samsung has founded did not last. Although the current flagship foldable, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, remains a more than fixed offer, it is clearly left behind its rivals in a number of important areas.
It is quite thicker than the Oppo Find N5 and the Honor Magic V3, for example, while his camera system simply does not step to that of the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The majority of competition has larger batteries and charging faster.
News that Samsung may return to the folding game is, as it were, very welcome. A lot of work is still needed to get the foldable form factor where it should be. Correct dust resistance, stronger app compatibility with app and a more robust internal screen are all things that need to be tackled.
Having the original folding king and in Vecht form will be enormously useful to achieve a few (hopefully all the) goals.
