Saturday evening live alum Victoria Jackson He has been diagnosed with an inoperable form of cancer and may only have three years to live. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016.
The comedian, 65, shared the sad news in a video message posted through her Instagram account on Wednesday, August 14.
Jackson shared the results of a CT scan in the latest episode of what she calls “Is The Cancer Back?” mentioned. video series.
“They cannot operate and cut out the marble in my chest, which is on my windpipe, which would ultimately cause me to suffocate,” the spokesperson said. SNL alum revealed.
Jackson explained that doctors prescribed her a “magic pill” that aims to “shrink the marble – hopefully.”
In the video, Jackson added that when she Googled the pill, others who had taken the pill were expected to live only 32.6 months (in the caption of the post, she suggested they had 34.8 months left had to live).
According to Jackson, people taking a placebo drug for similar conditions had a slightly shorter life expectancy of “28 months to live.”
Although the cancer news was grim, Jackson seemed to take comfort in the positive side of things.
“I’ve had an amazing life,” she told her followers, although Jackson admitted there were still things she would like to experience before her death.
“I would like to see my grandson born – his name is Jimmy – in October, and get to know him a little bit. And I would like to see my daughter, Aubrey, I’m having a baby,” she said.
Jackson also addressed her religious beliefs in the clip, saying, “The Bible says we have ‘three points and ten’ — that would be 70 years for a normal life.”
The comedian added that she experienced spiritual visions at night as she processed the news.
“I thought the other day as I lay in bed in the dark, I thought I heard God say, ‘Ready to come home?'” Jackson said.
“It was very strange and I thought: ‘Is that my imagination or is that God?’. But the Bible says, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” And he didn’t say, “You’re coming home now!” He just said it like we were hanging out. Like, ‘Ready to come home?’”
Jackson, who rose to fame when he appeared as a cast member Saturday evening live from 1986 to 1992, she documents her battle with cancer and shares updates with her fans on social media.
After Jackson shared her latest update, one follower wrote, “You’re handling all of this with so much grace.”
Another added: “I’m just at a loss for words, Victoria. You are a ray of light in this dark world.”
