The trailer for Disney Channel’s “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” has been revealed.
David Henrie reprises his role as Justin Russo from the original series ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’. The sequel series’ cast also includes Janice LeAnn Brown (as Billie), Alkaio Thiele (as Roman Russo), Max Matenko (as Milo Russo), Taylor Cora (as Winter) and Mimi Gianopulos (as Giada Russo). Selena Gomez (as Alex Russo) will guest star in the first episode.
The official synopsis reads: “’Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’ follows an adult Justin Russo, who has chosen to live a normal, mortal life with his family, Giada, Roman and Milo. When Justin’s sister Alex brings Billie to his house to seek help, Justin realizes he must dust off his magical skills to guide the wizard-in-training while juggling his daily responsibilities – and securing the future of the Wizarding World .”
In the trailer, Henrie’s Justin returns to the Russo family lair to teach the young wizard, but training gets off to a rocky start.
‘You are a powerful wizard. Some people see that as a threat,” Henrie says to Brown in the trailer. “But I promise I won’t let anything happen to you.”
Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas serve as writers and executive producers. Gary Marsh, Jonas Agin, Gomez and Henrie also serve as executive producers. Andy Fickman directed and produced the pilot and will direct multiple episodes. “Wizards of Waverly Place” was created by Todd Greenwald.
“Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” premieres with two episodes on October 29 at 8:00 PM ET on Disney Channel. The first nine episodes will be available the next day on Disney+ and Disney Channel On Demand.
