The 22-year-old woman who was shot on Saturday and injured in the main event of Highlands Ranch on Saturday, was friends with the shooter, according to the officials of Douglas County Sheriff.
Nevaeha Crowley-Sanders, 23, was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of attempted murder of the first degree and abuse after the shooting on Saturday evening, a 22-year-old woman sent to the hospital, according to judicial documents.
Researchers said in an arrest statement released by Douglas County Court officials that Crowley-Sanders and the victim have known each other since high school and were on the main event with a group of friends when they started fighting in the women’s bathroom.
The reason for the fight remains unknown, but at some point Crowley-Sanders took off a semi-automatic gun and, according to the document, shot eight times on the other woman. The shooting took place at around 11:50 PM Saturday, the Sheriff officials said.
It is not clear how many bullets have made contact, but researchers said the victim was shot in her left heel, right leg and upper rib cage in her armpit, according to the sworn explanation.
Crowley-Sanders is planned to appear in court for a hearing of the hearing on Thursday, according to the court reports.
