Boulder police are investigating after six students overdosed Saturday evening, a case possibly linked to a contaminated batch of cocaine and a failed fraternity pledge, investigators said.
Saturday between 10:00 PM and 10:30 PM, Boulder officers responded to the Kappa Sigma fraternity house at 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue for reports of multiple overdoses, police said Sunday.
At least six men were taken to hospital or treated at the scene by paramedics, police said. All six are expected to survive.
Police said the group may have consumed a contaminated batch of cocaine during a Saturday night party at the home and that alcohol was involved.
Detectives are investigating whether this was related to a commitment to the association, police said.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and charges are pending. Anyone with information is asked to call Boulder investigators at 303-441-1974 about case 24-12864.
