Summer house star Lindsay Hubbard has welcomed her first baby, a daughter.
“She’s here!! 🎀 Gemma Britt Kufe 🤍,” Hubbard, 38, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, December 8, next to a photo of her and boyfriend Turner Kufe holding on to their child’s hands.
Hubbard announced in July that she and Kufe — whose identities she did not publicly reveal at the time — were expecting.
“Trigger warning: This post contains more fireworks than the 4th of July! WE ARE PREGNANT!!!!! 💥💥💥,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “I truly believe the universe has a bigger plan and this is it! 💫 As soon as I had a feeling, I took a @clearblue Early Digital Pregnancy Test and getting a clear result, in words, made the next steps so much easier. My boyfriend and I are beyond excited to welcome our little #HubbCub this holiday season 2024!!”
In an interview with People that followed, Hubbard explained the circumstances surrounding her pregnancy.
“It was a surprise and a shock at first because we weren’t trying or even planning on it, but we had some honest conversations and it just felt so good for both of us,” she told the outlet, adding that the couple had only been together. for a few months when she took a pregnancy test.
“It was immediately and unmistakably stated with the words ‘You’re pregnant’ and as shocking as that was, having a very clear result helped ease the unknown,” she continued. “Those next steps are a little scary, but at least they’re easier if you somehow know what you’re working with.”
Hubbard and her boyfriend — a doctor who works in biotech investments — started dating in January. They dated a few times in 2020, but their romance fizzled as he was reluctant to settle down. He contacted her in December 2023 after news broke of her divorce from her ex-fiance Carl Radke. (We weekly confirmed in August 2023 that Radke had called off their engagement just three months before their wedding.)
“We have a very loving, caring and healthy relationship. I finally feel like I met my match with him,” she said of her friend. “He is so excited to be a father and proud to be having a child with me.”
Hubbard acknowledged that the situation could be difficult, but emphasized that she and her boyfriend were already coping well. “It just means everything there is to have someone like him by my side,” she said. “And yes, there is a lot of pressure on a new relationship, but I think because he is the right man, because we are so connected and bonded and communicate very effectively with each other that it didn’t feel like work.”
Hubbard, who learned she was pregnant in early April, also addressed Radke’s possible reaction to the news.
“I’m sure he’ll find out when the rest of the world finds out, but I’m not calling him up and having a conversation with him,” she said. People.
“That relationship is in my past, and I can’t really focus on my past anymore because I’m so focused on my present and my future,” she added. “And to be honest, his emotions are no longer my responsibility. It’s just not my problem anymore.”
