Given that robot vacs is not like-for-like replacement for an upright model (a robot vacuum does not feel like stairs, it is easy to see the attraction of a combined floor cleaner. If you like white, Switchbot’s K10+ Pro Combot robot vacuum and wireless vacuum does not disappoint. There are hints of silver and gray, but other than that, this is one for the minimalists there are.

The design is more new. It is all about a compact base, which hides a 3-liter fabric collector, complete with a bag and connects with both the Stokvac, which hangs on the back, and the robot, which must necessarily moor at the front. The stick is lightweight at 1.84 kg/4 pounds including the floor head (it is lighter with one of the three mounted tools), while the base measures a compact 82.6 x 19.5 x 22 cm (32 x 7.7 x 8.7 inch).

The corresponding robot vacuum is ‘the smallest the world’s smallest’ at just 24.8 cm/9.76 in (although it has a more standard height of 9.2 cm/3.6 -in) – ideal for reaching places that have no access to larger vacancy. The two buttons can be used to send it home or continue cleaning if it is interrupted, without the user having to reach the app.

The Switchbot K10+ Pro Combo also works via a Switchbot-Hub (not included) with Matter Over Thread, which means that it is future-proof and will work with any important smart home system, and you can publish speech assignments for the robot with Apple Home and Google Home.

Although Switchbot’s K10+ Pro Combo Dock itself is well designed, the short power cable can limit where it can live. Eventually I used an extension cable for locations flexibility, since the back of it had to remain accessible, so that the stick VAC could be removed and replaced.

My first impression of the stick -vac was that although the lightness and maneuverability were good, it was uncomfortable to hold. The battery is in the handle and adds weight.

In the meantime, the handle itself is wide and plastic (instead of being a soft handle material), so that it slips out of hand during use without retaining a fairly firm. The controls at the base of the handle – there is only one on/off button and a turbo button – are small and uncomfortable to reach, plus it is difficult to distinguish the remaining battery level while it is used.

What we liked was that placing the stick on the dock ensures that it is thoroughly empty (this is very loud), and that the wide brush bar has hidden teeth to prevent hair cover – there were no clogs or clogs during testing.

The robot easily connected to the app. Mapping was just as simple, although the guesswork with regard to room divisions required more processing than many rivals. Once active it was easy to adjust schedules, adjust settings and especially, it never lost the connection and always found its way home to basics without a problem.

However, it struggled with obstacles during the test period. While the wheels of the robot are jumped so that it can climb, it constantly got stuck on a doormat, toys with pets (cats are not neat), and we had to make a fireplace a no-go area because it would set up the edge.

Mopping feels like a side issue is not a water tank on board or mop cushions, but a clip-on module that requires disposable wipes to be attached to it. Mop mopping the vacuum cleaner function loose, which means that larger ones are lifted by the cloth of the dirt on the floor. It was essentially the floor.

In this mode it does not know when it is on carpet or carpets, so you have to make no-go areas. Although we had the idea not to need water to refill a tank, and that it was not necessary to wash cloths afterwards, the wipes were difficult to fit, and we thought we could have mopped manually in the same time.

We tried the mop for cleaning up brown sauce and tomato puree that was left to dry. Unfortunately, the cloth kept the tomato puree and pulled it apart from the module. Three wipes later the majority of the visible mess had disappeared, but the floor was clearly sticky. This function would probably only be suitable for light daily dirt.

The robot did better with dry rubble on the hard floor: for the test we used flour to display dust and oats as larger particles. Even in turbo mode the robot left a lot of flower, but oat-pick-up was good, with just a few remaining that had been thrown away by the side brush. On a Middenpile carpet the result was almost the same: good pick-up of the oats, but a noticeable amount of flour remained in the pile.

The Stick Vac is less suction power than the robot (2000PA versus 3000PA), but we thought it was a better performance. The collection of flower was good on the standard power, although it could spread the mess a bit.

Oat was largely sucked up on standard, but a few tend to escape from the brushes, so a few passes were required. On carpet, the standard power picked up the oats, but flour residues had been left that could not lift the turbo production.

We had to use our normal vacuum to suck this up. We also tried the Stick Vac with the help of some of its fittings – here it was pleasant light like a handheld on upholstery, good for small particles, but did not take a pet well.

Price and availability

The Switchbot K10+ Pro Combo had a launch price of £ 799.99/$ 799.99, but at the time of writing it is available for much less. In the UK you can buy it for £ 496 from Switchbot (with the code LMTSM250) or £ 499.99 from Amazon.

In the US, both Amazon and Switchbot (with the code LMTM50M) sell it for $ 399.99.

These prices make it very good and worth considering if you need a new vacuum cleaner And A robot vacuum with a budget. And if it is not discounted when you are tempted to buy, we recommend waiting for one of the regular sales periods that come by – because the discount is enormous.

Do you have to buy the Switchbot K10+ Pro -Combo?

Although it resolves the mystery of which type of cleaning agent, the Switchbot K10+ Pro -Combo does not fully yield. The Stick Vac is not as comfortable to use as some and it lacks the fleshy sucking power and several brushes of others. The robot is small, but as susceptible to get stuck as its larger counterparts, and can leave mess behind.

Mopping not really mopping – plus disposable wet wipes are not a friend of the area. The most attractive function is the compact dock: efficient, ideal for small space home and time -saving in the quantity that you have to empty. For this it can be worthwhile to overlook the defects of the cleaners themselves – but make sure you can live with the compromise before you buy.
