Team India Wicketkeeper-Batter Sanju Samson is said to be out of operation for more than a month after reports claimed that he broke his finger during the fifth T20i against England in Mumbai. According to reports, the 30-year-old has returned to Thiruvananthapuram and will only resume after his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru and it will need to return to competitive action. A BCCI source claimed that Samson is also highly unlikely in the quarterfinals of the Ranji trophy.
This is what the BCCI source, as quoted by PTI stated:
“Samson has broken his right index finger. It will take him five to six weeks before he can resume the right nets. There is no chance that he will play the quarter finals of Ranji Trophy for Kerala (US J&K) in Pune from 8 February- 12 . “
He is expected to return to action during the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Sanju Samson has also established the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL and his presence will be crucial if the franchise has to lift their first title since the inaugural edition.
Sanju Samson is struggling against India, but Team India wins T20i series against England convincingly
