The Marvel Cinematic Universe will enter its sixth phase, and one of the most critical films in this chapter will be Avengers: Doomsday. During a live stream of almost five and a half hours, Marvel announced the cast of the blockbuster on and there was no shortage of real surprises.
The new film contains Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Sebastian Stan (The Winter Soldier), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Letitia Wright (Black Panther), Danny Ramirez (the Falconleste), and the Falconlesty, and the Falconlesty), and the Falconlesteleste), and the Falconlestez), and the Falconlestez.
They are supported by Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), David Harbor (Red Guardian), Wyatt Russell (American agent), Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost) and Lewis Pullman (person named Bob). The film will also be mutants: Patrick Stewart (Prof. X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), James Marsden (Cyclops), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), Channing Tatum (Gambit), Kelsey Grammer (Beast) and Alan Cumming (NightCrawler).
Marvel also decided to include the Fantastic Four in the line-up, namely Pedro Pascal (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (the invisible woman), Joseph Quinn (Human Fakkel) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing).
In 2024, Marvel revealed that the new Supervillain, Dr. Doom, will be played by Robert Downey Jr., who previously played as Iron Man, Aka Tony Stark.
Doomsday will be the fifth episode in the Avengers-Saga, after the highly discussed Avengers: Endgame from 2019. The recipe for success, that Marvel urgently needs after several flops, will be to give the audience some fan-pleasant, trusted elements and something fresh. In the Doomsday cast, MCU veterans are strategically mixed with the newcomers.
Given the previous line-up of Avengers, however, the list has a few absences that you can puzzle. Here are the biggest missing characters.

Mark Ruffalo as Hulk

After surviving the big battle in Avengers: Endgame decided the good -hearted Dr. Bruce Banner to take care of his more violent alter ego. As he explained his cousin Jennifer Walters Aka She-Hulk in her independent series, he experimented in merging his two personalities. As a result, he created a Hulk inhibitor to let him control his transformations – since then he has appeared as a smart Hulk, a hybrid of human banner and the Big Green Guy.
Bruce arrived at the family dinner at the end of She-Hulk and introduced his son Skaar. The boy was born on the planet Sakaar, where Hulk moisture like a gladiator in Thor: Ragnarok. In the comics his mother was the warrior Caiera de Oldstrong, but she has not yet been mentioned in the MCU. Perhaps Bruce Banner will not appear in Avengers: Doomsday because he is busy with family affairs – Hulk may have returned to Sakaar to take care of his son. That is why it seems that we will not see the Hulk as Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027.

The last Spider-Man film ended on a sour note, with Peter Parker from everyone’s memories erased by Doctor Strange’s Spell, which was cast to restore order in the multiversum. Two weeks later he approached MJ to re -introduce himself as promised, but changed ideas after he had seen her safely and happy.
Eventually Peter got a new Spider-Manuit and returned to Vigilante activity. Why he will not be in Avengers: Doomsday is a mystery-misery it is explained in Spider-Man 4, which arrives in theaters on July 31, 2026.

Brie Larson as Captain Marvel

After repairing planet Hala, the Kreoe home world, Carol Danvers Aka Captain Marvel returned to Earth. She moved to Monica Rambeau’s house, because the previous owner was attracted in a different dimension. It is unclear why Carol does not appear in the cast of Avengers: Doomsday – as one of the most powerful superheroes living on earth, she would be a natural ally in the fight against the new Supervillain.
Whatever the reason in the universe, the absence of the captain is probably due to the disastrous reception of the miracles. Kevin Feige may want Carol Danvers to stay in the shade not to make fans disappointed by the film, which was established by three female superheroes.
Chris Evans as Captain America

Steve Rogers was a key character in earlier phases of the MCU and always had his hands full. When he retired after beating Thanos, it was an ideal end to his storyline. In The Avengers: Endgame final, Steve decided to return to the 1940s and spend his life with Peggy Carter. Nowadays he appeared as an older man and handed over the captain -american name and vibranium Shield to Sam Wilson, his successor.
For some time there were rumors that Steve Rogers would appear in Avengers: Doomsday, but details were vague. The newest place that teases the film reveals that the cast does not contain Chris Evans very happy it seems that Marvel Steve will not get from his well-deserved retirement.

Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch
Last seen in Dokter Strange in the multiverse of madness
Status: deceased
After the events were described in the Wandavision series, used ex-Avenger Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch Dark Magic to reunite with her lost children, Billy and Tommy. Her actions caused chaos in the multiverse, which resulted in a struggle with Stephen Strange and his allies in Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness.
In the end, Wanda was defeated and suffered death, and that is the reason she is not back in the MCU. Well, at least she’s not back for now – it’s a multiversum, and to be honest they can revive who they want, whenever they want.

Scarlet Witch’s Shenanigans with magical books and multiverse travel had a major influence on Stephen Strange. After using the Darkhold, a collection of bad spells, to possess his deceased counterpart in another reality, he is blessed (or cursed) with the third eye. Some time later Doctor Strange was approached by the sorceress Clea. The mysterious woman pulled him in to enter the dark dimension and repair what he destroyed fighting Wanda.
Being in an alternative universe can be a good excuse for not showing up for war with Dr. Doom. The absence of Strange is likely to be explained in the following film with him: Avengers: Secret Wars.

Scarlett Johansson as a black widow

Status: deceased
Natasha Romanoff’s bow ended up in Avengers: Endgame. The ex-massin and Avenger, known as the Black Widow, offered themselves so that Hawkeye could get one of the Infinity Stones out of the red skull. Marvel Natasha later decided to give a stand -alone film. Black Widow, however, was a prequel and it did not affect the ultimate death of the superhero in any way. Just like the Scarlet Witch, Natasha Romanoff is dead – at least for the time being (Multiversum, you remember?).
Don Cheadle as a war machine

James “Rhodey” Rhodes, known as War Machine, had a hard time after the defeat of Thanos. At one point he was abducted by the Skrull -General Gravik, who replaced him with his shapeshifting agent, Raava. Eventually Rhodey was saved by G’iah, the daughter of Talos, a skrull who was Nick Fury’s Ally.
What happened to war machine after the events of secret invasion and why he is not in Avengers: Doomsday is unknown – apparently the superhero will only appear until the MCU series, Armor Wars, planned for 2026.

Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye
Last seen in Hawkeye
Status: alive
After surviving the war with Thanos, Clint Barton Aka Hawkeye decided to clearly devote himself to family life. In Disney’s mini series entitled Hawkeye, however, the Archer was forced to confront his dark past, which he did with the help of his young Protégée, Kate Bishop. In the end, Clint returned to his wife and children – and probably decided the fight with Dr. Doom waiting with them.
Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury

Nick Fury may not necessarily be a superhero, but he has the charisma and the will of a hundred of them. He appeared in all Avengers films and many other MCU submissions, so his absence in Avengers: Doomsday is a big surprise. Supervising superheroes and monitoring the safety of the earth, however, finally became tiring for Nick.
It is no wonder that after secret invasion he decided to sit alone at the Sabre of Space Station, where he returned after the events of the miracles. Apparently he stays there during the fight with Dr. Doom.
