Lionsgate hasn’t had any luck this summer. Immediately after the spectacular flop of Borderlands, another disaster followed, equally painful and equally surprising. The Crow, starring Bill Skarsgård and, for some reason, FKA Twigs, is a remake of a ’90s cult classic – a remake that no one wanted and no one needed.
The original film The Crow, based on the book series by James O’Barr, became famous for its gothic atmosphere and the tragic death of its star, Brandon Lee, who was accidentally shot and killed on set. His loss only added to the film’s legend and gave it a special place in fans’ hearts.
It seems like Lionsgate missed the mark when planning a remake: both fans of the original and a new generation of viewers seemed to distrust and dislike the idea of a new film. It did poorly at the box office, but could it redeem itself during a home press release? Here’s when and how you can watch it.
How to watch The Crow now
The remake of the ’90s cult classic is available in US and UK cinemas.
If you want to see The Crow in cinemas, you can book tickets at AMC Theaters in the US and Vue, Cineworld, Odeon and Showcase in the UK.
Here is the trailer of the movie:
When will The Crow be released on VOD?
The disastrous remake of The Crow came on the heels of the flop Borderlands, an adaptation of a series of post-apocalyptic games. Borderlands, starring Cate Blanchett, was destroyed by audiences and critics alike and severely underperformed at the box office. As a result, the film will hit VOD on August 30, just three weeks after its theatrical release.
If Lionsgate decides to follow the same path with The Crow, we could see the film digitally early September 13, 2024.
However, keep in mind that this is just a prediction and has yet to be officially confirmed by Lionsgate.
When could The Crow be released on DVD/Blu-ray?
Physical copies of Lionsgate’s films usually appear on VOD after their debut, but the wait time varies.
Boy Kills World, another less successful film starring Bill Skarsgård, is still awaiting release on DVD and Blu-ray. On the other hand, physical copies of the disappointing The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare were released on VOD two and a half months after its debut.
So if The Crow even comes out on DVD and Blu-ray, it could happen end of November 2024.

When could The Crow be released on streaming services?
Lionsgate typically launches its films on streaming six months after a theatrical release. If the company sticks to this rule for The Crow, the film might not appear until Starz end of February 2025. The film will be released in Peacock a little later.
Starz’s basic subscription costs $8.99 per month or $74.99 per year, with a seven-day free trial. You can get the standard, ad-supported Peacock Premium for $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year.
However, there is a possibility that due to The Crow’s poor box office performance, Lionsgate will make an exception and put the film on streaming sooner. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
Lionsgate’s Songbirds & Snakes and John Wick 4 were released on Prime Video in Britain, so The Crow could also arrive on this streaming service around February 2025. An Amazon Prime subscription costs £8.99 per month, but new users can get a 30-day subscription. free trial period.
