The highly anticipated third season of “The Traitors” UK will return earlier than planned.
British audiences will finally be able to watch on BBC One and iPlayer on January 1.
In the third season, host Claudia Winkleman will once again oversee a group of citizens in the Scottish Highlands as they compete for a cash prize of £120,000 ($152,000).
“We welcome a new group of strangers to play the ultimate game of detection, backstabbing and trust in the hope of winning up to £120,000,” the logline reads. “New series and a completely new game. But who will save it?”
The series will be accompanied by a visual podcast ‘Traitors Uncloaked’, hosted by comedian Ed Gamble, which will be available on BBC Two, iPlayer and BBC Sounds after each episode of the show.
Season 3 re-airs on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings.
The show, from producers Studio Lambert (part of All3Media), has proven to be a big hit, with the BBC committing to a fourth season and a celebrity edition, which has yet to be cast.
All3Media represents the worldwide format and tape sales rights of “The Traitors,” originally created by IDTV in the Netherlands.
A live experience for fans of the show will also arrive in London next year, so audiences can get hands-on.
