Like many, one of my New Year’s resolutions is simply to spend less time on my phone. And I think the recent talk about app bans has shown us that we’re all a little addicted. Personally, I’m going to try it learn a new language. I’ve always wanted that, and I found an unbeatable deal on Babbel.
I’ve seen ads for Babbel on TikTok and great reviews online, but I wasn’t sure I wanted to pay monthly fees. But then I saw that I had one Lifelong Babbel subscription for $149.99 via Popular Science with code BABBEL20 at checkout (reg. $599). If you’re interested, you can only take advantage of this discount until January 25th.
Trying Babbel for the first time
Babbel offers lessons in 14 languagesso I decided to start with Spanish. There are many native speakers in my community, and you never know when knowing a few words or phrases might be useful.
The app allowed me to set a goal and daily notifications so I remembered to come back for classes. Then I drove straight in. I was surprised when the first lesson was less than ten minutes, so I did a few during the first lesson.
The first few classes taught me how to introduce myself, talk about where I come from, and… pronounce the Spanish alphabet. I already learned considerably more than what I remembered from Spanish class in high school.
One thing I didn’t expect from Babbel was Spanish-speaking practice. There’s an AI conversationalist that basically lets me practice conversing with a real Spanish speaker before I do it in real life, and I can’t wait to try it once I know the language better.
Use code BABBEL20 at checkout to get lifetime access to this language learning app for $149.99 until January 25 at 11:59 PM PT (reg. $599). You won’t find a better price anywhere else.
