Travis Kelce has just eight catches in three games this season – and he hasn’t topped 100 yards yet – but one of his best teammates, George Karlaftisis confident the future Hall of Famer hasn’t lost a step.
The Kansas City Pass Rusher spoke with TMZ Sports this week about his team’s good 3-0 start… and while he told us he’s in a much better position to talk about the defensive side of the ball, he’s sure Kelce isn’t washed.
Karlaftis was quick to say that the tight end “hasn’t skipped a beat” — and even though critics have suggested that TK’s much-discussed offseason with Taylor Swift has caused his slow start … Kelce’s teammate has seen no change in the 34-year-old’s preparation process.
“He’s a guy who loves football,” Karlaftis said. “He will come to work every day, no matter what.”
Karlaftis seemed to point to all the doubles and triple-teams Kelce has seen this season as the biggest reasons for his decline in production.
“Teams have to respect him,” Karlaftis added. “He’s the best tight end to ever play, you could say. Certainly, I think so.”
Patrick Mahomes on Travis Kelce’s low output in three games:

Seems Patrick Mahomes would agree, as after the game against Atlanta on Sunday night, the QB told reporters that teams are just doing everything they can to get Travis out of the game.
Kelce gets a chance to get everything back on track in a few days: the Chiefs play the Chargers in LA on Sunday.
