Travis Kelce passes Jerry Rice for most career Super Bowl receptions in loss of Eagles

Despite missing another championship ring, Travis Kelce added another distinction to his CV on Sunday when he surpassed Jerry Rice for most career Super Bowl receptions in the loss of 40-22 of the Kansas City Chiefs for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kelce, 35, registered four receptions for 39 Yards to give him a total of 35 catches through five Super Bowl performances, which passed the Hall of Famer Rice’s Mark of 33 receptions in four Super Bowls.

The Super Bowl record comes one year after Kelce Rice’s career records of the Postseason reception surpassed.

Kelce was unable to count in a catch in the first half of Sunday’s shameful match, because the chiefs quickly lagged behind three-plus scores. But the legendary tight end saved his Stat-line in the second half and broke Rice’s record after dragging two catches in the late third quarter and a 9-year reception on the 7:54 Mark of the fourth quarter.

Rice still contains a large number of other Super Bowl records, including receiving yards (215), career that receives touchdowns (eight) and career-degrading yards (589).

With his 39-Yard night Sunday, Kelce moved past Lynn Swann and Rob Gronkowski to second place on the career that Receffers receives, now sitting at 389.
