Donald Trump labeled Joe Scarborough a “sick puppy” and dismissed claims that he would seek retaliation against the “Morning Joe” host’s team if he returns to the White House.
Appears Friday on ‘Real Time With Bill Maher’, Scarborough noted terrible things Trump has said or is accused of.
“His people have said they are going to arrest my producers. He said he was closing CBS because he didn’t like how they edited a package on ’60 Minutes.’ He’s out of control,” Scarborough said.
Sunday Trump was asked Scarborough producers’ claim on Fox News’ “MediaBuzz.”
“Nobody said that,” Trump said. “Look, Joe is a sick puppy. I know him well.”
“I dropped him because I thought he was actually very unethical,” he added. ‘But I dropped it. But I used it in 2016, and I do it from my apartment. I didn’t even have to go inside and could just call.”
The Republican candidate enjoyed a friendly relationship with Scarborough and his wife, “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski, during the early days of his 2015 campaign, but it grew increasingly tenuous as he faced criticism from them, eventually leading to a big fight.
“I was friends with him and with Mika, but at some point — and it doesn’t matter why — I didn’t want to do it with them anymore, and they’re not very happy about that,” Trump said. Sunday.
Scarborough is one of Trump’s fiercest critics in the media, routinely speaking out against his lies, hateful and divisive rhetoric and his efforts to thwart democracy.
Trump has directed a lot of vitriol at the MSNBC host, including spreading a baseless conspiracy theory accusing the former Republican congressman of murdering someone.
On several occasions, Trump has done just that threatened retaliation against opponents if he returns to power. After his Democratic opponent, Kamala Harris, recently had an interview with CBS News’ “60 Minutes” that he didn’t like, Trump called the broadcaster a “threat to democracy” and called for it to lose its license.
