The two doctors have been charged in connection with Matthew PerryAfter their deaths, not only do they still have their medical licenses, but they can still – SHOCKING – prescribe drugs to their patients, TMZ has learned.
Last week Dr. Mark Chavez and Dr. Salvador Plasencia were accused of illegally conspiring to supply ketamine to the late ‘Friends’ star.
TMZ then broke the story… the California State Medical Board launched an investigation into both doctors, but… kept their medical licenses active without disciplining them.
Now we have learned that the State Medical Board has placed NO restrictions on doctors’ licenses, meaning they can prescribe serious medications to anyone, just as they were accused in the Perry case and continue to practice.
The board has provided us with this official statement… “Both licenses are current and active and the board has placed no restrictions on them.”
Speaking of the Perry case: Dr. Chavez has already done that struck a deal with prosecutorspleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine.
Prosecutors say Chavez admitted to giving the drug to Dr. Plasencia after obtaining the ketamine by writing fraudulent prescriptions.
Plasencia often injected Matthew with massive doses of ketamine… and even administered the drug at Perry’s home. According to court documents, Plasencia called Perry an “idiot” in a text message to Chavez while questioning how much the actor would pay for ketamine.
Plasencia is charged with conspiracy to distribute ketamine, distribution of ketamine resulting in death, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and altering and falsifying records in connection with a federal investigation. He has pleaded not guilty.
