UK Castle WORTH RS 225 Crore is for the first time for sale in 700 years

A castle directly from a fairy tale can be purchased for the first time in almost 700 years in the UK. Ripley Castle, located near Harrogate, North Yorkshire, was offered for sale with an asking price of a casual RS 225 Crore (£ 21 million), so that the most expensive real estate ever would be sold in the UK outside of London.

The building is spread over 445 hectares of land and contains a lake, a pub, a helicopter platform and a parking space. The estate is split into nine plots that can be purchased individually or together, and also has a cricket field, hotel, tea room, gift shop and wedding location, according to one BBC report.

Sir Thomas, who has been taking care of the building in addition to his wife Lady Ingilby for decades, is the proud owner of the building. The Castle of Ripley came to Family Hirloom after Sir Thomas Ingilby, who lived between 1290 and 1352, married heiresse Edeline Thwenge in 1308/9 and acquired the estate as a dowry. His son Thomas saved the life of King Edward III when he was led by a boar and was knighted.

Asked why he sold the property, Sir Thomas said that the couple wanted to retire and do other things after spending years with maintaining the great real estate.

“There are days when we are very positive about it, there are other days when we are sad for what we will miss,” Sir Thomas told the publication.

“I have been taking care of the place for more than 50 years, so this has been my whole life. I don’t want to be performed first from here Feet, I have things I want to do.”

“We have checked every box on that list. We left it in the best possible condition and secured the heritage for future generations.”

The couple that four grandchildren has is planning to travel something after the sale process of the estate is completed.

“Some events that we have organized here are incredibly moving … There are evenings when we walk through the gardens on the lake, and deer come down to drink while the smell of the flowers surrounds us. It feels like something out From a fairy tale, “Lady Ingilby said.
