Ultrahuman wants to move you away from smart rings like the Samsung Galaxy Ring and Oura Ring with what it calls “the world’s first luxury smart ring.”
Announced at CES 2025, the Ultrahuman Rare is made of 18-carat gold, which is quite an upgrade from the quite scratch-friendly titanium and tungsten carbide carbon coating used on previous Ultrahuman smart rings and most rivals.
The Rare comes in three models that are part of the ‘Desert Collection’, including the Desert Rose ring made from 19k rose gold (top left) and the Dune model made from 18k gold (top right).
There’s a third ring in the collection and that’s the Desert Snow model, which swaps gold for PT950 platinum (below).
Ultrahuman says the gold used for the Dune and Desert Rose rings comes from the London Bullion Market Association and has been hallmarked by the Bureau of Indian Standards. The Desert Snow ring is made from 95% platinum, with the PT950 platinum used representing the highest standards in the jewelry industry according to Ultrahuman.

Beneath that luxurious exterior lie the very same sensors included in Ultrahuman’s other, less lavish smart rings, including sensors to track your heart rate, sleep, stress, and skin temperature.
The stats and insights generated by these sensors can still be accessed for free via the Ultrahuman companion app, with the Rare’s price unsurprisingly being a bit higher than the standard Ultrahuman ring.
Can you afford one?
Ultrahuman told Tech Advisor that the new Rare collection will launch in early to mid-January 2025, with prices ranging from £1,500 to £1,800. You can buy it at Printemps department store in Paris and Selfridges in London.
Ultrahuman also tells us it plans to make the collection available in other locations, hoping to bring it to stores in New York, Milan, and India soon.
Those who have been keeping a close eye on all things smart rings in recent years may remember that Oura collaborated with Gucci for a luxury version of the Oura Ring 3, featuring braided details and the Gucci logo made from 18k gold .
Ultrahuman takes it a step further by covering an entire ring in luxurious metal, hoping it will make an already quite likeable, subscription-free smart ring worth spending significantly more than it costs to get one. Oura Ring 4 and any other smart ring for it. matter.
