Tribute has arrived from over Hollywood to the star.
Actor Josh Brolin shared the sincere message on social media next to a throwback photo of the couple: “You see, friend. I’m going to miss you.”
He also described Kilmer as a “smart, challenging, brave, uber-creative stunner”, adding to it: “There is not much left.”
Josh Gad, the best known for his role in Frozenplaced an image of Kilmer off Top gunWriting online: “Rip Val Kilmer. Thank you for defining so many films from my childhood. You really was an icon.”
In his documentary from 2021 FallKilmer thought about the impact of his illness, frankly discussing the difficulties of using a voting box and communicating post operation.
He also thought about his pain about the tragic drowning that drowns the death of his brother, his regret about things and the impact of the death of his mother, who was filming the documentary.
It also contained his struggle to bring a Biopic from Mark Twain to the big screen – that he sold land that he had to finance in Mexico.
The project was ready to make a blockbuster budget film after Kilmer had brought a stage show about Twain’s Life to theaters, but he was struck by throat cancer before his dream could be realized.
Moving images in the documentary showed Kilmer dressed as his hero Twain – with whom he identified when he also lost a brother – walk to the sea to the soundtrack of Bob Dylan’s Knock on the door of heaven.
