Warner Bros. Discovery Reales Global Streaming Content Acquisition

Warner Bros. Discovery reorganizes its streaming content -acquisition teams in worldwide areas in one division led by Royce Battleman, who is promoted to executive vice -president of Global Content Acquisitions.

Battleman, who recently served as head of American content acquisitions for WBD’s Networks and streamers Max and Discovery+, will now supervise content -acquisitions on a global scale that cover North -America, Europe and Asia. She will report directly to Warner Bros. Discovery Chief Financial and Strategy Officer of the streaming of Joshua Walker.

Per WBD: “This newly combined team will play a crucial role in shaping the acquired content strategies for Max and Discovery+, so that their range remains innovative, fascinating and compelling for the global audience.”

The global streaming -Content -acquisitions Execs remain in their current roles, but move under the supervision of the Battleman include Ragnhild Thorbech, SVP Programming & Acquisitions, EMEA; Magdalene EW, head of content, streaming, apac; Andres Mendoza, head of content -acquisitions & programming, Premium & Streaming, Latam (with reports in Latam Business); Elizabeth Bannan and Tiffany Tulba, Vice -Presidents of Content -Acquisition, USA

Variety has confirmed that no roles will be eliminated as part of this reconciling.

“By setting up this global team, we enable us to better manage global and multi-regional content partners and to optimize deals in all regions,” Walker said. “The structure will ensure that our acquisitions are closely tailored to our global content strategy, planning and analysis and financial data for Max and Discovery+ platforms worldwide.”

Battleman started her time at Warner Bros. Discovery in the HBO Business Affairs department. In her most recent position as head of American content acquisitions, she secured Max’s Output license agreements with A24 and Warner Bros., supervised the independent film license strategy of HBO and completed the recent deal to keep ‘friends’. She also supported the launch of HBO Max in May 2020 and his 2023 Rebrand to Max.
