Russell Wilson’s extensive experience in both the NFL regular season and the playoffs is one of the reasons why the Pittsburgh Steelers signed him this summer.
The veteran quarterback is one of only five active passers to have appeared in and won a Super Bowl. He has appeared in two Super Bowls during his 13-year career.
The former Seattle Seahawks quarterback has also started 16 postseason games in his professional football career. His experience will be crucial for a Steelers offense with several young players.

What is Russell Wilson’s playoff record?
Saturday’s Wild Card Round game against the Baltimore Ravens will be Russell Wilson’s 17th career playoff appearance. The quarterback won nine and lost seven of his first 16 postseason games
He has completed 61% of his passes for 3,786 yards and 25 touchdowns in 16 career postseason games.
Wilson’s playoff record may not seem impressive at first glance, but it’s actually quite respectable when you consider that he has nine playoff wins, which is second only to Patrick Mahomes’ total (15) among all active quarterbacks.
Russ is one of only seventeen quarterbacks in NFL history to have played at least two games above .500 and recorded more than ten playoff starts. Additionally, he is tied for the eighth-most postseason wins in NFL history with nine.
Early in his career, Wilson had a lot of success in the playoffs. He led the Seattle Seahawks to two Super Bowl appearances and five consecutive postseason berths from 2012 to 2016, during which the team won its first championship in 2013.
However, the 36-year-old quarterback has a 1-3 record in his last four postseason games, with his most recent win coming against the Philadelphia Eagles on the road in the 2019 playoffs.
In his first regular season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Wilson finished with a 6-5 record. Now he wants to improve his postseason record and also win a playoff game for the first time since 2019.
If the Steelers want to end their postseason skid, Russell Wilson needs to be at the top of his game. Since 2011, head coach Mike Tomlin has seen his team’s painful defeats pile up with a postseason record of 3-8 after starting his career with a 5-2 postseason record and two Super Bowl trips.
The team’s last postseason win came in 2016 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Since then, they have suffered five consecutive postseason losses.
