In 2023, Apple surprised us with three special events. WWDC in June and the iPhone 15 launch in September were both expected, but few people would have predicted another Mac-specific event in October.
But despite the release of the Vision Pro in the US and the M3 MacBook Air in many countries in 2024, neither warranted a special event.
However, during WWDC in June 2024, Apple officially unveiled iOS 18. And now we’ve most likely learned the official release date for the iPhone 16 series, as well as the Apple Watch Series 10.
Here’s everything you need to know about the next Apple event.
When does Apple usually hold events?
Apple typically hosts three or four live or livestream events each year to unveil its latest products. The events are generally scheduled at similar times each year:
- March/April/May: Spring event (not every year)
- June: Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC, every year)
- September: Fall/Fall Event (also known as the iPhone and Apple Watch Launch Event, every year)
- October/November: Late Fall/Fall event (occasionally)
Two of these are already behind us and a third has just been announced. However, it is possible that more events will take place in 2024.
When will the next Apple event take place?
Apple has confirmed that the next event will take place on September 9, 2024 under the theme ‘It’s Glowtime’. The event is expected to focus on the iPhone 16 series and the Apple Watch Series 10, but we may also see new AirPods.

September 2024 event
Apple consistently hosts an event in September, usually to unveil new iPhones and Apple Watches. The only recent exception was in 2020, where Covid-related production issues delayed the iPhone announcement until October.

Possible event end of 2024
The new AirPods are expected soon, so they could be announced at the September event or later in the year. Updates for the AirPods Max, AirPods Pro, and regular AirPods are all rumored, in addition to brand new, cheaper AirPods Lite.
However, if Apple holds an event after the iPhone 16 launch, it will likely be for new Mac devices.
Events from 2025
While it’s not always worth looking that far ahead, it’s already highly likely that the long-awaited next iPhone SE will arrive in 2025 instead of this year.
However, a foldable Apple device isn’t expected until 2026 or 2027 at the earliest.
