Juventus is playing again Champions League football after the Italian giants were banned from UEFA competitions for one season, and they will meet PSV in the Allianz Stadium. The Bianconeri started the 2024/25 season with two wins and two draws under new coach Thiago Motta and have yet to concede a goal. The competition phase of the new Champions League format starts on Tuesday. There are now 36 teams, up from 24, and they will all play eight matches before the phase ends in January. The top eight are assured of a place in the knockouts. while the 16 following them play a home and away play-off to determine who makes it to the last 16. Team news
Juventus: After a number of changes at the weekend against Empoli, Thiago Motta is expected to start alongside former Atalanta Teun Koopmeiners and play alongside Dusan Vlahovic and Kenan Yildiz in the attacking line. Former AC Milan defender Pierre Kalulu is also likely to start at right back, while Federico Gatti and Bremer will lead the four-man defense.
Possible Juventus XI: Di Gregorio; Kalulu, Gatti, Bremer, Cabal; Locatelli, Fagioli; Cambiaso, Koopmeiners, Yildiz; Vlahović.
PSV: Peter Bosz’s team has impressed so far this season, after the Dutch team won the first five games of the season. Luuk de Jong will lead the attack, while Malik Tillman and Johan Bakayoko will play on the wings, as former Napoli winger Hirving Lozano was not called into the squad due to injury.
Possible PSV XI: Benitez; Ledezma, Flamingo, Boscagli, checkers; Til, Schouten, Veerman; Bakayoko, De Jong, Tillman.
Prediction
