The competition is fierce Dancing with the starsbut season 33 went on a short hiatus on Tuesday, October 1 due to a scheduling conflict.
The third episode of the season won’t air until Tuesday, October 8, as all major broadcast networks have canceled their usual programming to show the vice presidential debate between the governor of Minnesota. Tim Walz and Senator from Ohio J.D. Vance – standing next to the vice president Kamala Harris on the Democratic ticket and former president Donald Trump on the Republican ticket, respectively – in New York City on Tuesday night.
Season 33 of Dancing with the stars debuted on September 17 with Tori spelling, Phaedra Parks, Anna Delvey, Joey Graziadei, Jen Tran And Stefanus Nedoroscik among the cast members competing for the mirrorball trophy. Alfonso Ribeiro And Julianne Hough resumed their role as hosts, while Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli And Derek Hough back as judges.
Although all of the contestants escaped elimination during the premiere, two couples were sent home during the September 24 episode: Delvey and her partner, Ezra Sosaand Spelling and her partner, Pasha Pashkov.
Delvey, 33, was blunt when asked what she would take away from her experience on the ABC reality series, replying: “Nothing.”
Julianne, 36, took the comment to heart and replied: “There you have it, absolutely nothing,” while Ribeiro, 53, joked: “You were having fun, stop it.”
For her part, Spelling had kinder words to say about her time Dancing with the starsexclusively narrative We weekly that she was grateful for it despite her early departure.
“It really was an incredible journey and experience,” she said. “Obviously I felt like I was just getting started, and I saw such a huge change in myself, physically and mentally. [and] emotional. Obviously I wanted to continue, but I’m grateful that I did.”
Spelling, 51, had the support of her children – she shares Liam, 17, Stella, 16, Hattie, 12, Finn, 12, and Beau, 7, with her estranged husband Dean McDermott – throughout her journey and was happy that her children made her “face her fears” during the competition.
“I came home every day a better version of myself and a better mother because… I felt so much personal growth and happiness and tapped into things,” she explained. “I thought, ‘Oh my God, I haven’t felt this happy doing something I do for myself in so long.’ Because I think somewhere along this journey called life I gave up a big part of myself, and now I’ve taken advantage of that, so I’m going to keep doing me.
Spelling added that she will continue dancing “1,000 percent” after the show. “I don’t know what that looks like, but I would like it [continue]she said. “I found something that really makes me happy, and I realized that I am good at it. … I made myself proud.”
Dancing with the stars returns to ABC and Disney+ Tuesday, October 8 at 8pm ET.
