Apple TV+ has renewed the drama series “Your Friends & Neighbors” starring Jon Hamm for season 2, with season 1 officially setting its premiere date.
The first season ends on April 11 with two episodes, followed by one weekly episode through May 30. The early renewal comes just under a year after it was announced that Hamm would star in the nine-episode first season, from creator Jonathan. Tropper.
“I’ve had this show in my head for years, and making it is a dream come true,” Tropper said. “It was an absolute thrill to work with Hamm, along with Connie Tavel and Craig Gillespie, to bring it to life. The support from everyone at Apple has been phenomenal, and the fact that they ordered a second season before we aired our first is an incredible validation and tribute to the work of this incredible cast, as well as the crew, writers and directors. and producers who have worked so hard to make this show what it is. We can’t wait for everyone to see it.”
The official logline reads: “After being fired in disgrace, Andrew ‘Coop’ Cooper (Hamm), a hedge fund manager still struggling with his recent divorce, resorts to stealing from his neighbors’ homes in extremely wealthy Westmont Village, only to discover that the secrets and things hidden behind those rich facades may be more dangerous than he ever imagined.”
In addition to Hamm, the cast includes Amanda Peet, Olivia Munn, Hoon Lee, Mark Tallman, Lena Hall, Aimee Carrero, Eunice Bae, Isabel Marie Gravitt and Donovan Colan.
Tropper serves as director, executive producer and showrunner on “Your Friends and Neighbors” and also creates the series under his overall deal with AppleTV+. In addition to starring, Hamm will also executive produce. Connie Tavel and Craig Gillespie also serve as executive producers, with Gillespie directing episodes 101-102. Additional episodes are directed by Stephanie Laing, Greg Yaitanes and Tropper.
