There are exciting things on the horizon for Honor phone users as the company has just unveiled MagicOS 9.0, a major upgrade to its operating system.
This free update takes things to a new level with what Honor calls a “personalized AI operating system for all scenarios” that should power the upcoming Magic 7 series.
A new AI assistant
The big star of this upgrade is the newly improved Yoyo AI Agent. Formerly a smart assistant, Yoyo has now evolved into an AI agent that can perform more complex tasks with greater autonomy.
The idea is that Yoyo can interpret your commands with a better understanding of the context, preferences and habits.
For example, you can ask Yoyo to order your usual coffee from your favorite café, and he will take care of the entire process from order to payment, without you having to lift a finger.

Large system-level language models
Another major addition to MagicOS 9.0 is the introduction of the MagicLM family, a family of large language models (LLMs). These models enhance the system’s AI capabilities by improving interactions in multiple modes, whether text, image or audio.
Unlike many AI systems that are limited to specific apps, MagicLM is embedded at the system level. This allows for more natural interactions between different functions of your phone.
One of the most notable aspects of MagicOS 9.0, however, is Honor’s commitment to an open AI ecosystem. Unlike closed systems, which limit AI functionality to their own applications, MagicOS 9.0 allows Yoyo to work with third-party apps.
Enhanced security
Security also gets a boost with the MagicOS 9.0 update.
With deepfakes becoming a growing problem, MagicOS 9.0 introduces what Honor claims is the industry’s first AI Deepfake Detection feature. Designed to help users recognize and avoid scams, this tool adds an extra layer of protection to your digital life.
Other features and availability
In addition, MagicOS 9.0 also brings features like Magic Portal, which lets you access text and images with a simple gesture, while Magic Capsule now covers a wider range of scenarios, including travel and gaming.

Honor
While Honor has not yet revealed which of the brand’s phones will receive the update, as mentioned, we highly expect the upcoming Honor Magic 7 series to be first in line.
Additionally, models like the Magic V3, Magic 6 RSR, and Magic 6 Pro should also get access to MagicOS 9.0.
Overall, whether you’re using one of the models above or one of the other best Honor phones, you’ll want to keep an eye on the rollout of MagicOS 9.0 and prepare to experience the future of AI on your device.
