“The Madness” was by far the most-watched streaming original in the US during the week of November 29 through December. 5, per luminate. The Colman Domingo-led limited series racked up 2.2 billion minutes of viewing during that period, marking its first full week on Netflix. This marks the first time a title has surpassed 2 billion minutes on the Luminate charts since “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,” which debuted with 2.7 billion minutes watched from September 20-26.
With just over half of “The Madness” viewership was “Landman,” which was watched for 1.2 billion minutes between Nov. 29 and Dec. 5. The Taylor Sheridan-created series dropped its fourth episode in this viewing window, landing in second place. “Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey” was next in line with 774.2 million minutes watched, followed closely by “Lioness” season 2, which dropped its penultimate episode this week and reached 750.6 million minutes watched. The first season also continues to rise, landing at number 8 this week with 358.8 million minutes watched.
“A Man on the Inside” took fifth place this week with 673.9 million minutes watched, after debuting at the top the week before. “Cross” ranked sixth with 503.8 million minutes watched in its third full week of availability. The remaining titles on the chart – “Tulsa King” Season 2, “Lioness” Season 1, “The Later Daters” and “The Day of the Jackal” – all had fewer than 500 million minutes watched.
On the movie chart, “Our Little Secret” rose to No. 1 with one billion minutes watched, after debuting at No. 3 the week before with 301.8 million minutes watched. “Nutcrackers,” a new Hulu movie starring Ben Stiller, debuted in second place with 300.3 million minutes watched in its first full week of availability, followed by “Spellbound,” which reached 209.5 million minutes watched after debuting at No. 2 with 346.7 million. minutes viewed the week before.
Just one more title – Tubi’s ‘Sidelined: The QB and Me’ – had more than 200 million minutes watched this week, while the rest of the charts went to ‘The Snow Sister’, ‘Hot Frosty’, ‘Meet Me Next Christmas’ ,” “Sikandar ka Muqaddar” and “The Union.”
