An officer shot at an armed man who police say was trying to carjack a woman at a Walmart drive-thru… and the dramatic scene was captured on bodycam footage released by the Louisville Metro Police in Kentucky.
In the video from August 28 you can see how the female driver managed to escape from her car as a suspect Randall Allen makes his way to the passenger seat… where police give Allen multiple commands to get out.
Allen is heard saying he can’t move his hand… but the police end up shooting through the windshield, hitting him several times before pulling him out of the car. Police say he had a gun in his pants and report a second gun was found in the car.
Police say the entire case initially started with a car chase involving a Kentucky State Police trooper pursuing a vehicle due to an expired license plate and a suspended driver’s license.
The chase reportedly ended in a crash, with Allen, one of two men in the car, running to a nearby Walmart with two guns in hand.
According to police, Allen ran into the Walmart, threw away his orange shirt and left it in an aisle. They add that he then stormed outside where the alleged carjacking incident occurred.
Allen was treated at the hospital and now faces charges including resisting arrest, unlawful confinement and wanton endangerment.
