The Seattle Seahawks have agreed to trade wide receiver DK Metcalf on the Pittsburgh Steelers for a pick in the second round in the 2025 design, according to competition sources.
Why they made the move
The Seahawks intended in the low season to keep Metcalf on an extension that both parties would have kept happy, but Metcalf asked for a trade last week.
The Seahawks want a physical,-heavy identity in violation, so they must have drawn a line in the sand at the market rate of $ 30 million for premium recipients. Metcalf had another year about his contract, so this was probably if his commercial value would be the highest. The Seahawks receive the No. 52 Pick from Pittsburgh.
In the meantime, the Steelers have had their problems with receiver in recent years. Productive artists such as Diontae Johnson and Chase ClayPool brutaled before they were sent away, and veteran -acquisitions such as all Robinson and Mike Williams never left. They tried to acquire San Francisco 49ers Brandon Aiyuk in the last season, but could not let it happen.
Metcalf has collected at least 900 receiving yards in all six of its NFL seasons, including three topping 1,000 meters. He has an average of eight touchdowns per year. Although not always a high-volume Pass Catcher-Hij filled 90 receptions in 2022 before he grabbed 66 balls with each of the past two seasons, the Downfield, physical ability to fit well with Pittsburgh attack, assuming that the stalkers pick out something at Quarterback.
Steelers Trade Quality: B+
The Steelers have just proven that they are not afraid to go after it, because this step is certainly eligible.
By locking MetCalf in a five -year contract of $ 150 million, the Steelers have made their biggest splashes at Wideout, where their track record of drawing up and developing the position has hit a valley in recent years (except George Pickens). But the combination of Metcalf and Pickens will be a nightmare for opposite secondaries, as long as Pickens can shock with the more proven wideout.
More than just adding a dynamic receiving threat, the DK Metcalf -trading De Steelers must also give sufficient leverage and flexibility when it comes to George Pickens, who is ready to enter into the last year of his Rookie deal.

Both receivers play with their shoes on fire. They can be frightening when the ball is in the air and is devastating after the catch; And both extend the field, which will help under options such as tight end Pat Freiermuth and receiver Calvin Austin.
The question, which figures must be answered very quickly: what happens with Quarterback?
The Steelers had mixed results with Russell Wilson and Justin Fields the last season. Both are free agents together with a hit-of-Miss group with Aaron Rodgers, Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones. The concept class has also fallen this year. Sitting on number 21 in the first round, the Steelers will probably have to wait to see what is coming to them.
They have a selection frame player. Now they have to find out who checks the machine, although this movement may make a more attractive landing place for available quarterbacks.
Seahawks Trade Quality: B
This soon turned into a transition type out of season for the Seahawks, who agreed to trade Quarterback Geno Smith on the Las Vegas Raiders and released broad Tyler Lockett. They also hired offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak to replace Ryan Grubb.
The Seahawks will build around Wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba and walk back Ken Walker and Zach CharbonNet, but they have to strengthen an attacking line that has been talented for a few years, but an injury tagged. And of course they also need a quarterback, although there is a lot of buzz around Darnold on their way to the Pacific Northwest. If that does not happen – or they enter the design without a proven experienced starter on the Roster – the plan of the Seahawks will become much larger.

Dugar: Whatever the plan of the Seahawks is after the actions of Geno Smith, it certainly works better
General manager John Schneider and his staff have recently had in the design in a heating, so the extra capital is tempting. They choose number 18 in the first round and have NRS. 50 and 52 in the second together with a few third rounders.
The Seahawks were in a difficult place with the Metcalf trade request. It is understandable why they run, but it is now time to perform the vision.
