The burglary occurred on July 27, ahead of Vice President Harris’ first in-person fundraiser since becoming the presumptive Democratic nominee.
The salon’s owner, Alicia Powers, closed her business at the request of the Secret Service, which had investigated the area earlier this week.
“There were a number of people in and out of here clearing a few bombs again – they completely understand what they have to do because of the nature of the situation,” Powers told the media. “And at that point, my team felt like it was a little bit chaotic, and we just made the decision to close on Saturday.”
Secret Service agents were caught without permission on security footage recorded via a security camera. Four individuals, including two in ambulance uniforms and one in a camouflage law enforcement uniform, then entered the salon without permission.
An agency spokesperson said agency employees “would not enter” without the business owner’s permission, but acknowledged that an officer was taped over the security camera lens.
