Amy Adams is fully in agreement with taking on the role of Tree Pain – if the opportunity presents itself, of course.
“That would be great,” Adams, 50, said during an appearance on Tuesday, December 3 The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon when the show’s host brought up the idea, which was floating around social media. “That would be so nice.”
Fans of Swift, 34, have planned a biopic about Paine, 53, who is Taylor Swift‘s longtime publicist. Adams seemed excited about the idea, especially if it brings her “closer” to Swift.
“I have always loved and appreciated her music,” the actress said. Adams admitted she became a ‘Swiftie’ at age 50 after getting the chance to see Swift’s Eras tour.
“I’m a crafty fifty-something, Swiftie. … I think: isn’t that useful? And my daughter goes, ‘Oh, I hate this for you,'” Adams continued, noting that she used to be a quiet Swift fan. The Eras tourhowever, changed that.
‘I suddenly went from ‘normal’ to ‘I’m taking all the friendship bracelets!’ I thought: who am I?” she said. Host Jimmy Fallon then asked Adams if she had ever met Swift.
‘Actually, yes. Years ago,” Adams recalled, explaining that their paths crossed at an awards show after-party. ‘I know better than to go to the second party. But I chose to go to the second party and Taylor Swift was there. There was karaoke.”
Adams and Swift performed the song “What’s Up?” by 4 non-blondes.
“I may have sung it a little loud and I’m sure everyone said, ‘Amy, shut up! We want to hear Taylor sing.” I was just in it,” Adams said. “I had a fantastic time. And if I did it now, I would be so different.”
Adams joked to Fallon, 50, that at the end of the day, she was “doing the right thing.” “I sang about Taylor Swift really loudly, and probably not great,” she joked.
In August, Adams attended the Eras tour in Los Angeles with Elisabeth Banks in the Casamigos lounge.
“Taylor Swift, Sofi Stadium, Night 1: She was an angel and a unicorn and pure magic,” Banks, 50, captioned a selfie she snapped along with Adams on August 3. “Thank you @casamigos for bringing us together to enjoy Eras with 70,000 other fans.”
Swift will play her final three shows Eras tour The year-and-a-half tour will come to an end this weekend on December 8 in Vancouver, Canada.
