Giving podcasts an edge in a saturated market

In an ecosystem where over 500,000 podcasts were created in the first half of 2021 alone, a creator faces a real challenge in finding an audience, monetizing a show, and handling all the distribution logistics. Auddy solves all that.

It is a one-stop podcast company that hosts, publishes, markets and distributes the best original podcast content from high-quality award-winning sources worldwide. The shows cover a variety of genres and are available on every major platform (Google, Apple, Amazon, Spotify, Deezer, Stitcher, Soundcloud, etc.).

What type of companies do you work with?

Auddy works with a wide range of companies, ranging from commercial partners who want to advertise and promote their brand, to podcast listeners, to people who want to produce a podcast. We also work with podcasters who want to commercialize their previously produced podcasts and increase their listenership and engagement numbers. In short, we work with everyone involved from the concept phase to hosting, production and promotion.

What problem does Auddy solve?

Like YouTube, podcasting is now a huge ecosystem, worth over £7 billion by 2027. With over 100 million listeners in the US and 20% of the UK already listening, a podcast creator faces a real problem finding an audience for his podcast. and therefore lead to a potential for commercial returns in the form of advertising sales and sponsorship sales. As a publisher, Auddy uses data analysis and advanced skills in hosting, marketing and promoting the published podcasts and can help the creator create a commercial outcome for the podcast.

What is your USP?

We are unique because we manage everything under one Auddy roof – from concept to design produces, publishes, markets And divides the best in original podcast content and audio shows, all in one company. We also own proprietary systems, data analytics tools and technology to bring efficiency and business intelligence to the publishing industry.

What are Auddy’s values? Have you ever been bothered by it and if so, how did you deal with it?

To date, our values have never been challenged – that doesn’t mean they won’t. But as a company we believe in integrity, reputation, diversity, inclusivity and social and moral insight.

We like to work with people who share the same values, so that our values are represented in the work we do and whatever sector we work in.

How do you ensure you recruit a team that reflects your company values?

We work together with a team psychologist when recruiting all employees. She specializes in working with candidates through a testing process, which allows us to better understand the candidate’s personality and dynamics so that they – and we – are a good fit. Our psychologist also works closely with the dynamics within the leadership team, ensuring that the team’s comprehension skills are accelerated to improve effective communication. Our tests also look at the candidate’s tolerance or need for working from home.

Are you happy to offer a hybrid work model of post-covid home/office?

We believe that remote working is a crucial part of our future development. While we believe in the need for a close-knit team for personal interaction, office life can be stressful and lead to health-related challenges, especially mentally. That’s why we plan to support and encourage flexible working hours, home working and team building through personal involvement.

Do you have any tips for managing suppliers and customers effectively?

We believe that whoever you are and whatever position you are in, you should treat others as you would want to be treated. Respect goes a long way, so it’s important to respect your peers and treat others kindly in all areas of life.

Do you have any financial or cash flow tips for new business startups?

We believe it is important to be transparent, fair and reasonable when managing and storing cash. If you are slow to pay a bill, contact the seller, express your position and make sure you treat them with respect, gratitude and honesty.

What is your attitude towards your competitors?

Without competition, you and your business will remain unchallenged and you may become bored or complacent. Competition ensures that you can compete better. In our world, where hundreds of millions of people worldwide listen to podcasts, there is an abundance of room for all competitors to thrive and succeed, without one having to win at the expense of the other.

Do you have ideas about the future of your company?

Tomorrow is much more exciting than yesterday.

We are in an exciting phase where we have managed to crowdfund our target amount within days of launching our crowdfunding campaign. The interest and commitment have overwhelmed us and we are really happy to be able to discuss our plans for the future. The future is exciting, the future is scary, but when you see the interest from crowdfunders looking to invest, the excitement of getting started and wanting to achieve great things is what drives the team.
