Cardi made it clear that she’s cutting back on the peanut gallery … and heading back to the gym on Monday, noting that she’s only doing 30-minute sessions and taking it easy. As Cardi put it, she uses cardio to help prevent postpartum depression, noting that this is her third time going through the experience.
We spoke to a handful of gynecologists, all of whom had different opinions on the subject.
One doctor said that most doctors in their profession would advise against hitting the gym straight away, although he made it clear that this should be done on a case-by-case basis. According to the medical professional, if a woman gives birth naturally and has a smooth delivery, a doctor be able to sign off for the new mom to return to light activities… like walking.
However, the doctor urged expectant mothers to consult their personal obstetric records before doing anything strenuous.

Another doctor expressed a slightly different sentiment…explaining that they wouldn’t personally release a patient for exercise until two or three weeks after delivery. But they know others who can release a patient after one week.
A third OBGYN urged fans not to do something just because a celebrity is doing it… again, and advised expectant mothers to consult medical professionals first.

As for why doctors were concerned about Cardi’s decision… many said there are risks involved in going back to it because bodies need time to heal after birth. Some possible side effects of rushing into exercise after giving birth include a hernia, tense muscles, pelvic prolapse and bladder problems.

The warning is even more serious for women who have had a C-section… because infection at the incision site, loss of abdominal strength, scar trauma and more can all develop if they start exercising before they are at least six weeks old. past.
I hope the rapper got the all clear from her doctor before getting on the StairMaster…although critics should tone it down a bit, because every case is different.
