Jennifer Gray almost had her career derailed because of the plastic surgeries she underwent.
The Dirty dancing star started her rhinoplasty journey in her 20s because she wasn’t getting the roles she wanted. Although her first rhinoplasty was successful, she noticed white cartilage on the tip during filming Wind a year after surgery and had it repaired after working on the project.
After she had her second rhinoplasty, Michael Douglas didn’t recognize her at a premiere.
She wrote in her memoirs: From the corner: “That was the first time I went out in public. And it became the thing, the idea of being completely invisible overnight.”
Gray added: “In the eyes of the world I was no longer myself. And the strange thing was the thing that I spent my whole life protesting against, and the thing that made me so angry at my mother because she always told me to do my nose. I really thought it was capitulating. I really thought it meant surrendering to the enemy camp. I just thought, ‘I shouldn’t be doing this.’ That’s really what I felt. ‘I’m beautiful enough.'”
