It is officially time for teams to win or go home this week in the UEFA Champions League, when the second stage of the Knock -Outphase -Play -offs will take place -and at least one European champion will get an early output.
Six teams come in this week’s action with only one goal of one goal, including Champions League winners Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, which means that the bet is high when teams hit the field. That is especially the case in Madrid, where the ruling champions take on Manchester City in the most expected matchup of this week. Bayern’s first leg victory on Celtic does not necessarily mean that it is certain that they will continue, given the surprising vulnerabilities of the German side that were shown last week.
Before the promotion starts, there are a number of choices and predictions from the CBS sports team.
Don’t miss any of the Champions League. As always you can catch all our coverage Paramount+” CBS Sports Network And CBS Sports Golazo Network all season.
Here are our expert choices for this matchday:
The Champions League -Lei from Tuesday
Bayern Munich versus Celtic
Player to watch: Dayot Upamecano – The French center Back has a reputation for enormous quality and disastrous errors. About the late Upamecano marks games with much less of the latter, which looks like a robust defender who can be trusted to prevent harmful Ricks. Yet it takes a while to change that … and turn this draw upside down. – James Benge
Man of the agreement: Harry Kane – This is one of those games that the English striker does not miss. The former Tottenham player has scored a very solid season with 29 goals in the 30 games he played in all competitions. After scoring in the first stage of the play -offs last week in Glasgow, we can expect that he will also be on the score sheet this week. – Francesco Porzio
Prediction: Bayern 3, Celtic 1 – Although the Germans were lucky a few times in the first stage, they must be done here with minimal fuss. The Scottish giants will be looking for an early goal to put pressure on their hosts, but he must eventually go Bayern’s way. – Jonathan Johnson
Best bet: Harry Kane To score and to manage Bayern Munich during the Rest (-101)- Looking for a fast start at home, it is no surprise that the Bayern attack will throw through Kane, which cannot be stopped by a team. But Kane only to score is not on what I would consider as a playable song, so adding the Bayern -Halftime result of a quick start brings things to a more attractive song. – Chuck Booth
AC Milan vs. Feyenoord
Player to watch: Mike Maignan – It has not been the best time for the French International lately, his awkward almost -post in the first stage of last week hardly the first mistake he has committed lately. In a elaborate target time, that error and the failure of Milan to score can be expensive. Even now he has to make up for it. – James Benge
Man of the match: Santiago Gimenez – The Mexican striker had a good start at the Italian club after the Rossoneri had signed him from the same Feyenoord in the January transfer window. Gimenez has already scored two goals in the two Serie A matches he played against Empoli and Hellas Verona, but he is now being called to make a difference against his former team. – Francesco Porzio
Prediction: Milan 1, Feyenoord 1 – The Italians are confronted with a tough task after last week’s narrow defeat, so don’t be surprised to see a tight meeting. If the Dutch outfits score for the Rossoneri will be extremely difficult to pull it out of the fire, but there is always a chance if Milan first strikes that they can turn it upside down. – Jonathan Johnson
Best bet: Both teams to score (-128)– Milan’s defense has left a lot to be desired this season and in what a tense collision will be, both teams will separate to shoot and often in what could be an open affair in Milan. In the first stage we already saw how Milan can give away a goal and even in their home stadium Feyenoord can also benefit errors in the second stage. – Chuck Booth
The Champions League -Lei from Wednesday
Real Madrid vs. Manchester City
Player to watch: Omar Marmoush – After he was surprisingly absent in the XI in the first stage, the Hattrick hero of the weekend will certainly start in the Santiago Bernabeu. He will offer what City missed in that match, where five attacking midfielder options are combined for just three shots. Events in the Etihad proven that there is not all of them doing it itself. Marmoush can share the load. – James Benge
Man of the match: Jude Bellingham – After a disappointing weekend where he received a red card against Osasuna after insulting the referee, Jude Bellingham is called to respond in one of the most important matches of the season against Manchester City. Although it is likely that the Englishman will miss a few games in the Spanish competition, the match on the side coached by Pep Guardiola is the perfect opportunity to forget what happened in Spain at the weekend. – Francesco Porzio
Prediction: Real 1, City 1 – It ended almost at the level last week before Real did what they do best. He could see Pep Guardiola and his city equipment raging against the dying of light and possibly leading at some point, but in the end the defensive European champions should do enough to see things and move forward. – Jonathan Johnson
Best bet: Kylian Mbappe to score (-105): finding the back of the net with a shin-tastic finish in the first stage, another goal could be sufficient to send Real Madrid to the last 16. Given the defensive problems of the city, Mbappe will have room to exploit and now that he is growing in his role at Real Madrid, the goals will follow. – Chuck Booth
PSV vs. Juventus
Player to watch: Joey Veerman – PSV will not keep a clean slate (even against Juventus), so they have to overwhelm Juventus in attack. That means a great achievement of the midfielder that leads this team in expected assists per 90 Champions League minutes, while he has set up almost two and a half shots. – James Benge
Man of the competition: Randal Kolo Muani – The impact of the French striker has been excellent in the club, because the former PSG player has already scored five goals in his first five games played for Juventus, and also an important assist against Inter Bood to Francisco Conukicao. – Francesco Porzio
Prediction: PSV 1, Juve 1 – The Serie A Giants Leiden 2-1 and that advantage of one goal could ultimately make a difference in qualifying for the round of 16. Juve is more an attacking threat since the arrival of Randal Kolo Muani, so don’t be surprised when they hunt The goal they need to achieve it. – Jonathan Johnson
Best bet: Juventus to Win (+190) – – Although going to the Netherlands is never an easy competition, this is a line that somewhat confuses me, given the form in which Juventus is. Drawing no bets is a safer way to play this, because Juventus does not have to win, but with Randal Kolo Muani and Weston McKennie both come up when needed, Juventus will be able to do a result away from home. – Chuck Booth
