Amazon’s October Prime Day is coming to an end, but there’s still time to get a good deal on a new phone.
One of the highlights is the Pixel 7a. Until midnight tonight you can get a great deal on Google’s mid-range device in Britain. It costs just £299, with the necessary 30W fast charger in the box. Compared to the starting price of £449 without charger, it’s a great buy.
However, it’s worth noting that this is a Prime Day specific deal, which means two things. The first is that it could disappear after today or when supplies run out – whichever comes first.
The second is that it is exclusive to Amazon Prime members. A subscription costs £8.99 per month or £95 per year, but there’s a 30-day free trial if you haven’t signed up before.
The deal isn’t as impressive in the US, but it’s not far off and isn’t specific to Prime Day, so it may not expire tonight. You can get the phone for $326.28, which is still a significant savings compared to the $499 price at launch.
Now, Google’s mid-range phone may have been released in 2023, but it remains an excellent choice. The first thing you’ll notice is that it’s guaranteed to get two more OS updates – Android 15 and a possible Android 16 – plus another four years of security patches.
It’s also simply an excellent all-round phone, as our full Pixel 7a review shows. An excellent camera, slick software and strong performance are all highlights. There’s a reason why it still takes second place in our mid-range phones, to the newer Pixel 8a.
